traditional australian pastime of creating the most packed & exhausting tourist itinerary of a country it takes $3k+ & 30 hours to fly to because if we're going to travel over there we need to make the most of it

not going to post a long think piece about it but i just read some egregious samuel marsden apologism masquerading as academic writing by a phd holder whose research allegedly surrounds the concept of decolonisation. i have encountered enough samuel marsden apologists in my own research to know that those attitudes also have tendencies to extend to conservatism in modern political & religious beliefs & specifically a lack of empathy for minority & marginalised groups. & that this academic in particular saying that decolonisation is part of their academic interests & research is eyebrow raising at the very least yk???
