if you heard about the woman who got killed by an alligator last month and your first thought was “well she shouldn’t have been swimming there”, you’re literally evil. and since you’re so concerned, you should never drive a car again.

“people have to accept the possibility of risk in certain scenarios” and “that’s really tragic and it wasn’t anyone’s fault” can exist at the same time. in florida, it’s literally impossible to go near any natural body of water without the threat of alligators. it’s also near impossible to avoid natural bodies of water if you want to have any amount of fun in your life. you know what can also happen in a body of water? you can drown. you can contract lyme disease. you can jump in too quick and have a heart attack. sometimes fun things involve risk. that doesn’t mean it’s bad. god forbid this woman just wanted to have a fun day with her friends.
