“When Mario was around, the ship was smooth sailing because you knew he was going to take care of Sid,” Olczyk said. “There were guys showing Sid who was boss. The reality is, when Mario was healthy, those guys wouldn’t say anything. But when Mario wasn’t around, these guys became King Kong and it got way too personal. I had to step in. Maybe it cost me and the coaches our job. But it was the right thing to do, protect Sid and the other young players.”

I don't think we talk about this enough. Because what do you mean Sid's coach from his rookie season felt the hazing while Mario was injured was so bad he and other coaches had to step in to protect him and he thinks that ultimately cost them their jobs. And that was in 2005 when hazing was much much more in fashion. What the fuck were they doing to him?
