If this Yamamoto thing if for the whole Save Rukia arc then just behr in mind that Yama has faithfully served the Soul Society for over a 1000 years. He’s not about to tear down his legacy for a single turncoat Shinigami. Keep in mind that he didn’t know her personally so as far as he was concerned, she was just another bad apple.

Byakuya redeemed himself multiple times. The whole Rukia execution thing was brought on by a conflict of oaths. Your hatred it unjustified.

Mayuri is a terrible person. No way around that. His one saving grace is restoring Toshiro, Kenpachi, and the Vizards

Love does crazy things to a man. Gin is no exception. If killing a few nameless Soul Reapers was what it takes to kill a super genius, all powerful, turncoat Soul Reaper then so be it. Gin becoming a traitor to kill Aizen and protect/avenge Rangiku is justified.

Aizen is a pretty bad guy, but he’s pretty much already been stripped of his rights.

Szayelapporo (spelled that right on my first try) is insane. Just put him on medication.

Nnoitora is the way he is because he hates himself. He’s angry because he hates himself. His situation is a complicated one.

Ulquiorra is also complicated. He doesn’t even understand the concept of emotion. The first real emotion he’s ever felt was love, and heartbreak. Love when he realizes his feelings towards Orihime. Then heartbreak when he dies knowing that her power could save him but she doesn’t because she knew he would continue fighting Ichigo. She chose Ichigo over him and he had to die knowing that. Sorry mate, I’m gonna have to give him a free pass.

Isshin is a creepy father but that’s all a cover for his Shinigami side which is his true self. Ryuuken did what he thought was good for Uryu. He didn’t want his son to prance around the city at night in a goofy white outfit fighting monster when he could be cut down by a Soul Reaper any moment. He wanted his son to have a normal, and prosperous life. Nothing wrong with that.

The Quincies had it rough. Most of them are guilty of nothing more than being on the losing side of a war. Even some of the worse ones are victims of past trauma. That doesn’t excuse their actions but it does mean that they need help. #YwhachDidNothingWrong

Byakuya made no effort to fix the system that almost killed his sister, blindly supported her execution, and is incredibly wealthy while people in Rukongai are starving to death

Mayuri is a horrible person whose every action is motivated by his own self-interest, which makes fascinating and generally very fun to watch, but ultimately still an awful person

Gin is my favorite character, but his bs is in no way justified - Matsumoto didn’t ask him to do any of that, and I think she would’ve preferred that he hadn’t. On top of that, he’s done absolutely horrible things for no reason at all, such as causing Rukia to have a breakdown for shits and giggles

Aizen shouldn’t be alive at all; Soul Society should be working on finding a way they can execute him

Szayel being crazy doesn’t justify shit. Most crazy people aren’t dangerous to others, and Szayel doesn’t show signs of real life mental illness so much as he shows signs of being a science-obsessed jackass

Nnoitra’s situation is not complicated. He’s a misogynistic pig and a sexual predator. No amount of “uwu self-hatred” makes that okay.

Whether or not Ulquiorra had feelings for Orihime isn’t relevant. He kidnapped, abused, and traumatized her. He also murdered her close friend/crush twice. He didn’t die knowing she chose someone else because there was never a choice for her to make - Orihime never once interacted with Ulquiorra because she wanted to; she was a prisoner and he was her guard.

“I did it for your own good” is something a lot of abusive parents say or tell themselves. It’s bullshit and it doesn’t justify abuse. If Isshin and Ryūken had wanted Ichigo and Uryū to be safe, they would have told them the truth

Byakuya is based on the classic samurai. Being a samurai he’s all about honor. He made an oath on his parents’ grave which is an oath you strive to honor no matter what. Personally, I think he unconsciously threw the fight with Ichigo so Rukia would be saved and his oath would be kept. I still find it hard to believe that Ichigo during SS could defeat Byakuya.

Mayuri is an interesting character because he’s a bad person. No argument there.

Gin is the classic ‘you hurt my woman so I’m gonna kill your ass’ type character. Let’s be honest though, his encounter with Rukia was just put in to make us believe he was the villain. My guess is that he’s either not fond of the Kuchiki family, or did it to save face knowing that Aizen was probably watching him.

Aizen can’t be killed. He’s like Doomsday with genius intellect. And that chair of his had the adverse effect of making him stronger. Even Ywhach the most powerful being in their universe couldn’t kill him so good luck with that.

Szayal is literally the same thing as Mayuri. He’s just as likely to be good as he is bad. He’s a mad man.

Nnoitra is a very complex situation. When it boils down to it, he needed an ass beating and a therapist.

Ulquiorra was just as likely to be good as he was bad. He was a lonely Vasto Lorde who lacked the ability to talk and was an outcast even among his own kind. Imagine how different his situation would have been if he’d run into Kisuke instead of Aizen. He was abusive, but not intentionally so. If he was then he would’ve beaten Orihime within an inch of her life when she slapped him. He’s like a person who never developed properly as a child and I think he was intentionally written in that way. He was a tragic character, nothing more and nothing less.

Isshin and Ryuuken weren’t abusive. Isshin taught Ichigo martial arts the hard way so that when is powers awakened he could defend himself easier. Ryuuken tried to turn Uryu away from the Quincy lifestyle because of all the pain it brought him. He didn’t want his son being a Quincy because he knew it would be a hard and dangerous life. He wanted what he thought was best. Which is a little unwarranted because according to Ywhach, Uryu is technically the strongest character in Bleach.

I dunno who the homophobe is. If the original poster is talking about Tsunayashiro then yeah fuck him. He’s done a lot worse things than homophobia. Like having his own clan members killed then killing the assassins themselves. Abusing Hikone. And killing his wife, then nearly crippling her best friend Kaname. I wish Kaname had a redemption arc for the Blood War but I really wish he had one now. I would’ve loved to have seen him beat Tsunayashiro’s ass. I don’t know what Tsunayashiro’s zanpaktou does but between bankai, hollowfication, and resureccion (all together a 30x boost) he should be plenty powerful enough to beat Tokinada Tsunayashiro’s ass.

War isn’t genocide. And in all honesty you could argue that Ywhach did nothing wrong. They may have resembled Nazis but they obviously weren’t since they allowed colored people, that one dude that Kenpachi killed in like 0.2 seconds who was probably gay (Sternwritter Q the Question I think), and Giselle who is probably transgender according to Yumichika and Charlotte Coollhorne. (Probably butchered that dudes name but oh well.)

Ginjo did have beef with the Soul Society but he needed Ichigo’s powers to take them on because he wasn’t strong enough by himself. A weak motive but there is something else to consider. Ginjo probably resented Ichigo because Ichigo and his friends are accepted and even honored among the Soul Society and by Ukitake while Ginjo, and his friends were betrayed. Doesn’t justify but it makes it easier to understand why he did it.

The nobles are assholes but it really isn’t their job to take care of the Rukon district. It doesn’t matter though, most of Central 46 has been replaced after the Blood War and according to Captain Commander Kyorako, conditions have improved significantly along with relations with Hueco Mundo.

Exactly zero people asked him to make that vow. And in any case, he also made a vow to Hisana (who very much did ask) that he would protect Rukia. Trying to have her executed isn’t really keeping that promise.

I love Gin. I really, really do. But the reality of the situation is that Rangiku doesn’t belong to him, regardless of whether or not they had feelings for one another. He also cut Hiyori in half. The best possible explanation for his actions is that Aizen groomed him, which is very likely, but an explanation isn’t an excuse. He did horrible things and his backstory doesn’t justify that.

Aizen can’t be killed as far as anyone knows. If they figured out how to get the Hogyoku away from him, they might be able to kill him.

Szayel and Mayuri’s entire fight was based around how they had similarities on the surface but were in reality very different. Mayuri wants science for the sake of science. Szayel wants to be perfect. One has done good things (for self-serving reasons) and the other hasn’t even come close to doing anything remotely decent.

Nnoitra is a misogynistic pig and a sexual predator. He deserved what he got. No excuses for that fucker.

He was very much intentionally abusive. He calculated his words in an effort to break Inoue’s spirit and succeeded. Not beating the shit out of someone doesn’t make you a good person. The only tragic thing about Ulquiorra is how far people will go to excuse his shit.

Assaulting your kids is child abuse. There isn’t an excuse for that. Ryūken wanting what he thought was best isn’t an excuse either - lots of abusive parents tell themselves or their kids that to justify their behavior. It’s still abuse.

Look… I have been sexually assaulted or raped many times. Have you? Do you know the shame that comes along with that? I was 13 when I was first raped in the basement of my mom’s house as she was making dinner for everyone. She thought he was a good Catholic boy. I wanted to play video games. He wanted me to give him head. He grabbed me by my hair and forced me. 13 year old me was horrified and ashamed. I had made a vow of celibacy. I shoved it down and lied to myself that it wasn’t “really rape”. He’s now married.

The one time that I reported sexual assault, he was friends with the police chief and his wife was a judge. That went no where beyond making it harder for my now ex fiancee who forced me to report it then left me.

Unfortunately, women do sometimes lie about rape, and sexual assault. I've seen it first hand. I used to sit with a couple of slatterns at lunch and one of them talked about the possibility that she might be pregnant and was wondering what she should tell her parents. One of her friends said that she should tell them that she was raped. And her friend was serious. And what happens when you say you've been raped? They ask who committed the crime. It would be so easy for her to pick out somebody she doesn't like and say that they did it. Worst of all, the poor guy can't even prove his innocence until the baby comes and they can run a DNA test. It's even worse if the guy actually is the father.

Masculinity itself isn’t seen as bad, but then again I think masculinity is working out and Wise Spartans while you probably may think it’s acting like a frat boy and locker room talk.
