I just finished The Wretched Divien by Adalyn Grace, and I really enjoyed it.
Angels versus demons is a very classic story, but I think Adalyn Grace did well in making it unique and interesting. I liked the way both sides were shown in both a negative and positive light, as well as the humans. The critiques on religion were some of my favorite aspects of the story. It really showed how blind people can become when they throw themselves into their faith.
The romantic relationships were also great. Aurelie's bond with both Severin and Yuri was fun to read. I loved the banter between the group, as well as the tension.
I was ecstatic when I learned about the relationship between Ilaria and Lute. I think they are very cute together. They are also intriguing, and I'm excited to see where their story goes.
My only complaint would be that the book started to drag a little towards the end, but picked back up quickly. I can't wait to see how the next book goes. I gave it four stars.
Thank you, NetGalley and Macmillan, for the eARC.
