THIS IS NOT A REDESIGN! this a new version of catalina designed for the game fire emblem warriors: three hopes !! for those unfamiliar w fire emblem, this game came out some years ago as a successor to three houses. it takes place in the same universe but in an alternate timeline ! the biggest change in this timeline is that our three houses protag, byleth, never becomes a professor at the officer’s academy, changing the students’ lives for better and for worse.

so how does catalina’s life change?

well with all of the students’ educational lives being cut short by the sudden war outbreak (sooner than Houses timeline), her father feels her abilities to be insufficient to be on the frontlines of the war. he keeps her under tight lock and key, trying to protect her from the dangers of war by insisting she stay at the monastery to assist his work instead.

after two years of wartime, the lines between catalina’s sense of self and her role of servitude under the church begin to blur. in short, this version of catalina has a much weaker sense of independence and individuality, and sees herself as more of a servant or pawn to be used than her own person.

i wanted her design to reflect this so her outfit is based of the basic mage and bishop class designs, making her resemble more of a church member. also her hair is even longer since i wanted it to feel like it would weigh her down, similar to the weight of the past and her duties.

she looks more like her father these days, doesn’t she?
