Genuienly when the fuck did it become normal to chat with chatgpt and ask questions to it INSTEAD OF GOOGLJNG IT???? SARCHING IT UP????????? WHY THE FUCK ARE PEOPLE SAYJNG 'OH I ASKED CHAT' AS IF THATS NORMAL????????????????????

this is especially maddening to me in fb groups or subreddits for like, fishkeeping or medical conditions, when you ask something like “can anyone who has expertise or experience with x share their perspective here?” and then half a dozen people post screenshots from fucking google ai overview as an answer. like that’s even more insulting than “oh I asked chatgpt” like do you not think it occurred to me to google this before I asked for human input????
