male entitlement in academic spaces is so boring. canβt tell you how many times iβve been in a class and a girl gives a short, insightful analysis, and then a dude raises his hand and saysΒ βjumping off of thatβ¦β then says literally the same thing she said but longer and worse.
I hate to be that guy, but it doesnβt just happen to women. The assholes who do that will do that to anyone whoβs analysis isnβt sufficiently complex and long winded for them.Β
Been done to me by people of both genders.Β
Also I have been guilty of doing this, so I apologize. Because I was overly excited and just couldnβt wait to talkβ¦. yeah.Β
(Nothing is ever clear cut ehβ¦.)Β
this is art
#a fun fact about tumblr is that if you dare to complain about a mundanely frustrating type of person#that exact type of person will appear in your notes as if summoned via a ouija board
sexism in medicine kills people. racism in medicine kills people. fatphobia in medicine kills people. queerphobia in medicine kills people. classism in medicine kills people. ableism in medicine kills people.
do not downplay peopleβs fears about being mistreated because they are a part of a marginalised group. it is a matter of life and death and you should be angry about it.
It's fun being queer and weird and unconventional until you remember you live in a society
made a post about how I'm relieved and excited to be alive in 2026 and how I'm glad I exist in a time where music and education and communication are so expansive and accessible and said post wasn't even up for a single hour before someone started declaring that actually there are evil revolting breaches of human rights happening right now. not even an hour
im so mad i cant find it anymore but heres my recreation
this is kind of beautiful. I reckon we should all fabricate tweets from faint half-remembrances and letter them by hand instead of using screenshots

*puts my hand on your shoulder* Donβt worry, I have your back. Weβre gonna turn this crisis into a crwaswas
I like seeing some of you ""regulars"" in my notes it's like oh hey that's my Coworker from Tumblr
it's weird when i step outside of my firmly anti-diet social circle and hear a person talking about doing some pretty severe calorie restriction as if that's totally normal. like how the fuck do i even begin explaining to someone i barely know that eating only 1300 calories a day is extremely bad for you and that basically everything they think they know about nutrition is false.
the average thin person is so afraid of becoming fat that they'll do things which are extremely bad for them on every level with zero upsides (calorie restriction is even likely to cause future weight gain!) and this is completely normalized in mainstream culture. anti-fat discrimination is so deeply ingrained in the systems of our society and it's so fucked.
they should invent blankets that make you feel warm (good) but don't make you feel warm (bad)

Your skill level is unquestionable but listen.

To myself, raised in an environment that glorified and romanticized restriction and suffering:
There is no victory in skipping dinner, or lunch, or breakfast, or morning coffee, or dessert.
There is no victory in refusing heaters and air conditioners and fans and heated blankets.
There is no victory in denying yourself sleep, or showers, or movement, or water, or a comfortable bed, or taking the elevator vs. the stairs.
There is no victory in refusing pain meds and heating pads and ice packs and medical help.
There is no victory in punishing yourself needlessly, in telling yourself that this pain you feel is because you are bad to the core and deserve it.
There is no victory in choking back your laughter and your tears, to keep an imagined equilibrium of safety that is really just a dry, cracked, empty, endless emotional desert.
You are here. You are in this body, and this body is yours. You deserve good things. You are alive, and that is messy and loud, and messy and loud are okay.
Itβs okay to live abundantly. Itβs okay to make mistakes, itβs okay to indulge. This paralysis of self-punishment, self-restriction, self-loathing is not healthy or good for you.
all i want for 2026 is that gigantic rancid AI bubble to finally burst in such a catastrophic way that the consequences will be so good and i'll never have to see another AI generated image ever again
Like to charge, reblog to cast.
the thing about being "good with kids" is all it takes is literally just not trying to control and mould them with every interaction. it's just being a normal person and engaging with them through normal interactions like having conversations and playing games. it's just being genuine and friendly and not perceiving them as lumps of wet clay you are there to shape. "oh you're so good with kids" thanks it's because I think they are people

"Why is it a problem if students use AI to get through college"
Because if you demonstrate to me that you're willing to set aside concern for truth, evidence, and verifying things with your own eyes whenever it happens to be inconvenient for you, I have a solemn responsibility to make sure you don't get into medical school.
"oh, but this course is just a distribution requirement, it's not for my major"
Does saying things that are true and that you know are true only matter when someone is giving you a little prize for it?
Tumblr doesn't like to do this kind of ethics, so I have to phrase this carefully, but it's a question of character. And a person's character is clearest when they're being asked to do the right thing even when it doesn't matter to them.
I don't want to live in a world in which doctors and lawyers and politicians just ignore the responsibility to research and verify when it's inconvenient for them. When they're busy. When they have something they'd rather be doing. The world I live in is already too full of those people in positions of power. I'll be damned if I let there be more of them.
the hunger games is so funny its like here is my kids' book. it has a ton of dense political themes but like i explain them in a kid friendly way. don't even worry about the incredibly realistic violence. my main character called her boyfriend's mom a witch instead of a bitch so it's a kids' book. yeah there's sex trafficking
this is not against the books btw. i've been rereading them and i'm genuinely impressed collins managed to take all these super heavy themes and package them in a way that's digestible to younger audiences without diminishing it. it's important for kids to sometimes encounter Dark Shit in fiction so they can recognize it in real life.
