Actually I think my favorite Stargate thing is how skeptical they still are all the time. They’re just constantly like “you really want me to believe you time-traveled? You really want us to believe there’s a voice in your head? Seriously?”

Listen Daniel’s involvement with the Stargate program makes total sense but also it’s so funny to think about him being part of a field team. Like “hi we’re SG-1, arguably the most famous warriors in the galaxy. Our team consists of a war vet, an Air Force captain, a high ranking rebel of the people we’re fighting, oh and also we gave this archaeologist a gun.”

The original Stargate movie amuses me because the writers looked at their glasses-wearing nerd with allergies and went “you need a cute love interest”, and then they looked at their grim, strong-jawed soldier and went “you need an unruly pack of teenage boys who have imprinted on you like baby ducklings despite only being able to communicate with you through mime”, and do you know what? They were 100% correct.
