This is an interesting point. In some way, she has taken a risk with this role because the film does focus on her "aging", and that can be problematic for many actresses to address and to add a lightbeam. But, some of those risks pay off. Meryl Streep comes to mind for some reason of an actress who has taken the risk of having the age factor be part of the character. Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond from "Sunset Boulevard" also comes to mind.

I don't know if it's fair to say "unfortunately for her she is a white woman" and that could be a reason why she may be overlooked because Hollywood is seeking diversity for its awards. I wish gender, race, etc., politics would be removed from awards so that the focus could be on the actual talent, but there seems to have been a shift in the last couple of years that has tainted awards and their meanings. Wasn't the last Oscar season the least viewed?

It's comical to see the contrast between Gillian who is now promoting 2 films back to back and in company with big names while Dickovny can barely remember the name of the film he helped write and recently completed while he is doing his PR job and is in company of an uneducated bought escort and an amateur bodyguard, music manager or whatever that grifter Brad is.

The poems are pithy and pathetic and his music is amateurish at best and probably best saved for a garage band performance or for open mic night at the coffee shop.

Then you have Carter who can't do anything but undermine xfiles. Millenium was cancelled. Has he done anything else? How does Carter get to say that he thinks Mulder and Scully are in Coogler reboot? Wouldn't that be a leak because Coogler hasn't said anything. Yeah, they may be in it by means of a picture hanging on the wall or someone explaining something that leads to a flashback.

The fact that David is forced to pose as a rock star and participate in unknown low-budget films is only his fault. David looked great after the end of The X-Files, but he decided to follow his dick and the studios responded by choosing to use actors with a good image and reputation.

This is my personal opinion, but I think David's poetry is not much better than his music. But I agree that David's singing and his music are more suitable for singing in the garage or in the shower.

Gillian has always said that her main love is theater. Only real and talented actresses take the risk of performing in the theater, and this is really a sign of the high level of the actress.

I do not know if Gillian will be nominated for an Oscar, which is very unlikely (for objective reasons of selection), but if she is very lucky, then it will be fair. Few actresses would agree to play in such a film and with such brilliance.

Does anyone else find it interesting that not only is Perve missing from the Xfiles Lego promo but so is Carter. He is the creator and is heavily aligned to the show and to not have him some way out there connected is interesting.

For David, any mention of “The X‑Files” is beneficial, so he will promote the new version of the film. Right now, only “The X‑Files” brings David positive publicity. And besides, David needs to sell tickets for his tour😂, and this is a good opportunity to attract attention.
