Hi there! Not the most productive time of the year on DMCV, however, the rate of releases by talented producers this summer is so crazy high that it eventually got this blog out of the limbo.

And this Friday selection is maybe the sexiest tune featured on DMCV in awhile.

London-based producer (and Paris aficionado!) Le Flex has been around hammering remixes and productions for quite a while, landing remixes of his mate Ben Macklin, Medsound and Moodblanc collaborating with Cajoline and releasing remixes on Kitsuné. 

He recently released his long awaited new production “Meet Me on the Dancefloor” and the whole song screams sexiness. The overall atmosphere coming out of the song is reminiscent of bands like Imagination and the lyrics could have been taken directly from any Alexander O’neal LP, but it has definitely this very modern feel and the drops and bassline has never sounded so current. A proper instalike for DMCV! Enjoy!

Ce n’est la période la plus productive que DMCV ait connu et pourtant la quantité phénoménale de sons sortis récemment fait sortir le blog des limbes!

Et la sélection de ce vendredi est peut être la plus sexy que l’on ai entendu sur DMCV depuis un bail.

Le producteur londonien (et envahisseur parisien occasionnel!) Le Flex roule sa bosse depuis un certain temps, lâchant des remix de qualité pour son pote Ben Macklin, le français Medsound, le duo Moodblanc, collaborant avec Cajoline et produisant un remix pour Kitsuné.

Alright guys, let me introduce you to the best Spanish-Swedish collab’ there is. Barcelona based producer Pherotone and Swede artist Magnus (from quality funky-disco duet moodblanc) teamed-up to drop what is probably the most intense, summery-vibes Nu Disco production I’ve heard in 2015. The whole song seeps progressively into an poolside and beachy atmosphere that just puts a huge broad smile on your face. The production is top notch, altering synth lines to high pitched guitar riffs along with soothing beats that will be stuck in your head for long. Magnus voice play a huge part in bringing the feel and vibes of an upcoming and long-awaited summertime. “Silence is Golden” is free to download, making it impossible for you not to enjoy it over, and over, and over again! Big up to these guys!

Okay les gens, il est temps de lever le voile la meilleure collab’ hispano-suédoise de l’Histoire!

Le producteur barcelonais Pherotone et le chanteur suédois Magnus (du duo dico-funk moodblanc) se sont associés pour nous balancer ce qui est peut-être la bombe tropicale/estivale Nu Disco de 2015.

La chanson entière suinte une atmosphère de bords de piscine et de plage qui vous donnera littéralement le sourire. Le niveau de prod' est un peu ouffisime, alternant les lignes de synthés, les riffs aigus de guitare disco-funk et des beats lanscinants qui vous resteront en tête.

La voix de Magnus joue un rôle certain dans le posage d’ambiance d’un été décidément bien attendu.

I’m back from a 15-days hiatus due to Spring Break. Let’s get back on track with this ultra smooth remix of Alesso by Norwegian producer Sonny Alven. His take on the popular song is the polar opposite of the original. It’s quite an incredible feat, tuning down the vocals of Roy English and adding some slightly funky guitar and piano chords. It brings to the song this little je-ne-sais-quoi summery vibe. A perfect song to listen to under the sun of this end of May. Keep Calm, and Enjoy this fresh Nu Disco tune! Dieu Merci C’est Vendredi!

De retour d’un break printanier de 15 jours bien mérité! Remettons nous tranquilou avec ce remix hyper suave d’Alesso par le norvégien Sonny Alven. Sa version de la chanson sonne comme l’opposé de l’original. C’est un boulot assez incroyable, en baissant la voix de Roy English d’un ton, ajoutant des notes légèrement funky de guitare et de piano. Cela amène un petit coté Nu Disco estival au son extrêmement rafraichissant. Parfait pour en profiter au soleil de la fin de ce mois de mai!

Happy Friday everyone :) Today’s selection is a beautiful, transcendental remix of Novo Amor’s “Weather” from French, Toulouse-based producer Matthew Heyer.

This week I barely have to introduce the music, as you’ll be swept away the second you’ll press play. The light drums, the blissful woodwind additions and ambient piano chords that Matthew distilled throughout the song, added to the already dreamy guitar chords and nagging voice of Novo Amor make the song an instant favorite. A lush,tropical getaway perfectly calibrated to listen to it above the clouds at 30,000 feet. Enjoy this beautiful rendition!

Bon 1er mai à toutes et tous! La sélec’ d’aujourd’hui est un magnifique remix transcendantal de la chanson “Weather” de Novo Amor par le producteur toulousain Matthew Heyer (Le mode “Bouducon” est donc activé!) 

Je n’ai limite pas besoin de présenter le son cette semaine, vu comment vous allez être emporté très loin à la seconde ou vous écouterez la chanson. Les doux roulement de batterie, les bois au sonorités tropicales et les notes de piano ambiantes que Matthew a distillé à la voix lancinante et les douces notes de guitare de Novo Amor font de la chanson un kiff musical immédiat.

Ever wondered how legendary Gangsta rapper 2Pac would sound with a disco/funky vibe? Look no further! Houston-based producer Dynamique just released what is probably the most flawless Funk remix of the most famous face of West Coast hip-hop. Everything in his take on “How Do You Want It” is top-notch production. The majestic flow of 2Pac blends perfectly with the high-pitched guitar chords, synthlines and overall reminiscing vibes of funk legends such as Kool & The Gang and Earth, Wind and Fire.

Enjoy this tune that literally gives you beach time envy! *puts his Wayfarers on* Dieu Merci C’est Vendredi!

Le son de ce Vendredi c’est du LOURD!

Vous vous êtes déjà demandé à quoi pouvait ressembler un son de 2Pac façon funk? Et bien ne cherchez plus! Le texan Dynamique vient juste de lâcher ce qui est peut être le meilleur remix funk du pape du gangsta-rap West Coast.

Sa patte enjouée et funky sur “How Do You Want It“ accouche au final d’une pépite musicale qui bonifie le flow légendaire de 2Pac, alliant riffs de gratte funky à souhait et une ambiance digne des plus grand groupes de funk comme Kool & The Gang et Earth,Wind and Fire!

Un son qui donne des envies pressantes de journées passées à la plage, allez moi j’enfile mes Wayfarers!

It was hard not to click on the repost and share button as I was listening to the new Odesza remix by my fellow parisians Dim Sum (also hands down, my favorite Vietnamese culinary treats). So it kinda became obvious that the “White Lies” remix was going to be this week’s DMCV selection.

The way Dim Sum worked on this Odesza musical gem, keeping the essence of what makes Odesza sound so unique, while injecting their own classy vibes and sunny beats is close to perfection. The voice of Jenni Potts and the lyrics imagery resonate even more. Instalike.

Il ne fût vraiment pas difficile de liker et de partager ce nouveau son des “homies” parisiens de Dim Sum (bel hommage à mes délices culinaires viet préférés, seuls les vrais savent!). Ce remix de “White Lies” d’Odesza devint,à la première écoute, la sélection évidente de ce Vendredi.

L'équilibre dans la construction de ce remix, entre respect du son unique d’Odesza et l’influx des sonorités ensoleillées chères à Dim Sum, est total. Les lyrics totalement imagés chantés par Jenni Potts s’en trouvent renforcés. Coup de cœur musical instantané!

“I got a funky fever, and the only prescription is MORE COWBELL“ !

That could be a funny, easy way to sum up“Ghost”, the brand new dance anthem by Vancouverite artist Solitaire, but it’s so much more than that!

It took only seconds for me to get my feet moving as I pressed play! The production value is on point, beats are electric and the funky guitar riffs quite flawless (not mentionning this awesome COWBELL!!!). Solitaire sound is reminiscent of what the Funk Lordz got us used to expect from a high value Funk production. Add some distant influences from guys like Supermen Lovers and Lifelike to the mix and you cannot NOT enjoy “Ghost”! Clearly, Solitaire (aka Adam Wawzonek) is making a hit for his new single released under the patronage of talented fellows Keats//Colective.Talent.right.there. people!

La première chose m’ayant traversé l’esprit à l’écoute de “Ghost”, la nouvelle bombe funk du canadien Solitaire, c’est un célèbre sketch de SNL. Alors que ce son est une tuerie!

Il ne m’aura suffit que de quelques secondes pour être ambiancé sévère par ce son énorme, aux beats électriques et aux riffs ultra funky (et cette cloche de vache de l’awesome!). Solitaire balance clairement au même niveau que les standards dont nous ont habitués les Chromeo, Lifelike et autres Supermen Lovers! (rien que ça..)

Hey there! On this first day of Spring 2015, I want to treat you ears with the chill side of Nu Disco, impersonated by Toronto-based producer Cyclist!

His new release “Heartbeat Speed” showcases his talent and is most definitely the quintessence of a true Nu Disco hit.

The aerial chords, slow and inviting beats will get imprinted in your brains, and don’t even get me started of the mind-blowing voice of Jocelyn Alice that is just the perfect icing on the cake.

To me, there isn’t a more perfect musical companion to get ready for the weekend, the mind being overwhelmed by dreamy images of sunset beaches. Dieu Merci C’est Vendredi!

Here we go guys, that’s my first post in a LONG time!

I had way too much personal stuff happening in my life to fairly keep DMCV going, but hey, let’s hope I’m back for good, as long as exciting music from talented artists will come out, I’ll share the love!

So today, i want to talk to you about Stratford Ct. (short for “Court”) a collective (or label, to be honest I don’t really know) bringing together talented people and releasing their music under its patronage. Props to the wide range of genre and artists featured on Stratford Ct., as anybody can coexist without interfering with one another. This musical eclecticism is pretty obvious in the Stratford Ct. one-year anniversary compilation, a little gem that came out last week. Featuring an impressive list of 27 songs by 27 different artists, the compilation covers a wide variety of different genres, from Nu Disco to Vaporwave and feels surprisingly homogeneous given the wide array of talented folks on it. Among them is an artist named Video Void, whom I had the privilege to meet at a gig of his a little while back. This talented Paris-based producer invites you for a journey in his new release : “Delta Waves”. Filled with heavy, old-school Funk influences and a pinch of quality synthwave, his new tune is quintessential to a vivid musical genre that I am grateful to share with you once again. Nous y voilà les gens, mon premier post après une LONGUE absence.

Dû à des raisons persos et pros, je n’ai pas pu m’occuper de DMCV comme je l’aurai voulu, mais espérons que mon retour soit permanent, ou tout du moins pérenne dans le temps!

Donc aujourd’hui je vais parler de Stratford Ct. , un collectif (ou un label, honnêtement, je n’en sais rien), qui regroupe tout un tas de personne et publie leur musique sous la signature Stratford Ct. Il est important de saluer la variété des artistes présent sur Stratford Ct., sans qu’aucun ne se sente lésé par rapport à un autre, un grand équilibre de genres et de sons sont publiés et mis en avant chaque semaine. Cet éclectisme musical est flagrant sur la compilation anniversaire des 1 an, une petite pépite musicale sortie la semaine dernière. Avec 27 sons de 27 artistes différents, la compil’ couvre une grande variété de genres musicaux, du Nu Disco au Vaporwave, en passant par la Chillwave et Synthwave. Et la très bonne surprise, c’est que tous cette variété d’influences diverse sonne curieusement homogène!

Parmi ces artistes se trouve un mec nommé Video Void, producteur parisien que j’ai eu la chance de rencontrer lors d’un show passé. Cet artiste talentueux présente sur son nouveau son “Delta Waves” un trip musical de haute volée. Blindé d’influence Funk old-school et d’une pincée de Synthwave de qualité, Delta Waves sonne comme la quintessence d’un genre musical hyperactif dont j’apprécie de partager les dignes représentants! Hello folks, let's get back to business, shall we?

I decided I couldn't let the year 2014 go away without a DMCV update! So here we go, for this last Friday of the closing year, let's listen to Client Liaison! I discovered these 2 Aussie guys a few weeks ago when they opened for the Flight Facilities gig, here in Paris. What I witnessed was a talented duet who looked like it had come straight out of a 80's time machine. The rythm and the beats blended perfectly with a tremendous amount of swagger, in a wide variety of melodies.

Hello folks,Today's selection requires a big disclaimer and will serve as an example how a remix can turn a song around to new heights.

Full disclosure : I can't stand Robin Thicke. I don't like his musical style at all. And his song "Forever Love" , his personal situation aside, sounds like a pretty uninspired "love ballad".

That being said, I'm obsessed with what French producer Arnault Douze came up with this song. His take transforms the song into a totally unexpected vibrant 80s/early 90s pop anthem. The dancefloor potential is huge! I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did! FREE MP3! Dieu Merci C'est Vendredi !

La sélection d'aujourd'hui va nécessiter un gros avertissement et servir d'exemple parfait au pouvoir qu'un remix peut avoir sur une chanson. Avertissement: Je ne supporte pas Robin Thicke. Je n'apprécie pas son style musical. Et sa chanson "Forever Love", en ne prenant pas en compte sa situation personnelle, sonne comme une "love ballad" réchauffée.

Ceci étant dit, je suis obsédé par ce qu'en a fait le français Arnault Douze. Son remix transforme complètement la chanson en un hymne Pop digne des 80s et du début des 90s. Une vraie tuerie potentielle sur le dancefloor! :)

Another Friday, another stop on this never ending musical journey on DMCV!

Today, let me introduce you to an epic collaboration between 2 great artists leading to a great upbeat result!

Englishman Futurecop! is no newcomer in the synthwave/vaporware/whatever-u-wanna-call-it scene, landing collab with chiptune legends Anamanaguchi, fellow remixer Sunglasses Kid, and blessing us with great mixtapes showcasing the wide range of his inspirations.His last artistic collaboration allows me to introduce you with the new Brazilian sensation in the electro world : Cesare.

Slowly but surely, Cesare is leaving a big footprint in the electro scene, remixing many diverse songs and turning them into something full of piano chords, synthline, light beats and this lasting feeling of sunshine upon listening.

These 2 guys being put together, with the sweet voice of beautiful Mereki, I cannot imagine you will not be convinced by this version of "Sun Is Mine". A great musical piece, without a shadow of a doubt. Happy listening!

L'anglais Futurecop! n'est pas un nouveau-venu de la scène Synthwave/Vaporware/appelez-ca-comme-vous-voulez , ayant par le passé travaillé avec les boss de la chiptune, Anamanaguchi, son compatriote Sunglasses Kid, il nous régale régulièrement de mixtapes concoctées par ses soins. Sa derniere collaboration en date me permet de vous présenter quelqu'un dont je tenais absolument à parler sur ce blog : Cesare.

Lentement mais sûrement, ce remixeur brésilien marque la scène electro de sa patte perso, apportant des sonorités légères faites de notes de piano, lignes de synthé, beats aériens et cette sensation continue de chaleur tout au lmong de l'écoute.

This Friday I wanted to share something different with you, something that sounds very "back to roots" with this remix of Dutch duet Kraak and Smaack by Nottingham based producer Hot Toddy. "Back Again" already had a huge disco and funk influence thanks to John Turrell's voice, reminiscient of legendary R&B icons such as Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, and bits of Bobby Womack. But that Hot Toddy remix, man, it's a time capsule back to the early 80's! These guitar funkly riffs, mellow piano line and distant synth chords are blending perfectly. It's like listening to a The Whispers, Rick James or Kool & The Gang lost tape. The soul of the song is amazing, also thanks to meaningful lyrics.

So please sit back, relax and enjoy this funky little gem this Friday.

Ce vendredi j'ai eu envie de vous faire partager quelque chose de différent, un truc sonnant plus "roots", comme ce remix de "Back Again"  des hollandais Kraak And Smaak par l'anglais Hot Toddy. La chanson originale avait déjà cette influence funk avouée grâce à la voix du chanteur John Turrell, qui rappelle furieusement des icônes soul et R&B comme Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield ou encore Bobby Womack. Mais ce nouveau remix par Hot Toddy, mon Dieu, c'est une vraie machine à remonter le temps au années 80! Ces riffs de guitare funky au possible, douces notes de piano et lignes de synthé distantes se mélangent à la perfection. C'est comme écouter un son perdu de The Whispers, Rick James ou Kool & The Gang! L'âme de la chanson, de part ses paroles pleines de sens, s'en trouve bonnifié.

Hey folks, I came to realize why I started this blog more than a year ago : to share my curiosity for music and help spread the word about artists that might not be heard of otherwise. Today I'd like to share my musical "coup de coeur", in the person of The Land Below, aka Erik Lindestad from Sweden. His last transcendenting work, "Once Again" combining a lush synthline reminiscent of Vangelis work and haunting vocals is a instant musical getaway. No doubt that the gentleman has more incredible songs coming in the future, I'm already impatient to listen to what he will give the world to listen. And you? Dieu Merci C'est Vendredi!
