A few things, so Iâm 32 weeks pregnant and Iâm rereading SansĂ»kh because Iâm very stressed and itâs my stress-escape story. I only discovered it this past Feb but now itâs my go to escape-ism, so from the bottom of my heart - thank you. đ Second question, Gimli tells Thorin that he knew Legolas was his One since the âblasted river,â but I was wondering if you had a river moment in mind: the one in LothlĂłrien, the canoes, or Boromirâs death? (Iâm just curious, itâs fine if you want it vague)
Oh my gosh, congratulations! Those last couple of months are so damn tough, but you are on the home stretch now and soon your little nugget will be in your arms â€ïž I wish you every good thing for your delivery and family!
Ahahaha yeah I know exactly the moment Gimli is referring to here, and I debated whether I should specify it or not... Eventually, obvs, I went with 'not'.
He is thinking of the moment when they farewelled Boromir. The three hunters put him in the boat, and pushed him towards Rauros-falls. Then Legolas wordlessly handed Gimli his knife, so that he could perform the mourning-ritual of his people. That moment - perfect acceptance of Gimli as a dwarf, as a person with deep emotions who mourns, and of his culture... That's the moment Gimli realises that this tall streak of snark is HIS tall streak of snark.
