If I could pick ONE fanfiction that was made into a movie it would be Sansukh.
Everytime someoen likes my post about Sansûkh, I reread it.
But I get high and listen to Youtubers rewatching Hobbit and LOTR so I can experiance both at the same time.
I love it when the story and the movies line up. 😁

Somebody who has read Sansûkh, could you please confirm if Bilbo stays thin throughout the entire fic or if he becomes fat again later? (I am really hoping he becomes fat again later.)

Yeah okay I watched LOTR again. I’m reading Sansûkh and no one can stop me:
It came to no surprise that even reshaped, newly-found, newly-worked eyes were an easy tool for the so-named Sansûkhâl to master.
Almost instantly upon death and rebirth, after the Maker had had his chance with him, after the doors were finally opened- though it had taken a long while of Thorin holding himself back from simply breaking them down- Gimli gained sight.
Thorin, a lifetime ago, could remember a time where guilt and pride would have held him back. He could remember instances with so many others that he would have stayed back from the new body, naked and fresh as it was, and assumed that no new body could find comfort in his words or his touch.
Thorin, with no thought of intrusion, even to Gloin or Mizim, barrelled into the boy who couldn’t have feasibly been called a boy in centuries.
Gimli, even naked and fawn-shaky, was bigger and sturdier- and held him straight back.
Thorin held tight his own mourning mark and didn’t let go until the boy’s father complained. And only then because Gimli told him to.

Fun thought from the ending/after story of Sansûkh (spoilers)
Kili, Gimli, and Narvi have an unofficial club, for those who have found love among elvenkind.
Thorin is an honorary member. :)
Topics of conversation include:
-Being both charmed and infuriated by All The Singing
-How to deal with them being Too Tall
(Thorin looks smug, though someone points out he just has to deal with the opposite problem)
-How to fluster your elf non-dwarf love.
(Close contest, but my money's on Gimli.
And yes, this goes from a joke to a full on contest/bet, with money changing hands and all.)
Or (or perhaps, and, either way):
Tauriel, Legolas, and Celebrimbor commiserate together as elves living among dwarvenkind, who have found love in a dwarf.
Likewise, Bilbo is accepted as honorarily one of them.
Discussion topics:
-Adjusting to the life afterlife in the halls of the dwarves
-Khuzdul, including practicing it and humble bragging about how much they've learned
(Bilbo sulks about Celebrimbor knowing more, then flaunts being the first to be Named by the dwarves' Maker in Khuzdul.
If the elder elf was jealous back, he hid it well.
(But he definitely was.))
-How to fluster your dwarf love.
(Even more of a heated discussion than the first group.
Bilbo wins. Easily.)
What is everyone's favorite 'sad-dog' quote out of Thorin from Sansûkh? I cannot choose. Alas, I need one for the big-pout-art of him in the star pool I'm currently completely immersed in creating.
