going on instagram reels lately and checking out ANY south asian creator is saddening because the comments are awful. it’s either about how disgusting we are or about how we’re someone’s “hear me out.” i see hundreds weird sexual comments about our features and culture, and i also see hundreds of people who are just there to make fun of us. we are not ugly! we are not your “hear me out!” we are people who deserve to be treated as such. sick and tired of how some white people treat us as if we’re subhuman, while they simultaneously fetishize us.

ahahhsa.............. i hate colonization and white supremacy in India. when i went to go visit my family i was pretty apologetic for my horrible Hindi and instead of telling me to improve it or even teasing me about it they just... responded positively?? in English?? "awh! its ok not to know Hindi very well!" no it isnt brother i feel my grip on my culture being loosened everyday. its upsetting because they're being nice about it but it just goes to show how Indians are so tolerant and welcoming of colonization to where my lack of knowledge of my culture is tolerated instead of getting pushback. i SHOULD know proper Hindi and i SHOULD know how to read and write in it. luckily i have my grandmother to teach me but. i dont know im just so angry that Indians have such a need to get away from their own culture instead of embracing it. i was like that once too. i want more people in India to be anti-colonization. we need more of that
