As promised, we are opening submissions for panels for The Wee Con 2!

What to know:

if you want to submit more than one panel, we need a form for each one

you need to be attending TWC in-person or online

We will be opening submissions for workshops in two weeks time. This form is only for panels and will close at the end of June.

All panel materials to be displayed on the screen will need to be submitted no later than two weeks before the event for digital prep.

May Trope Mayhem is a multi-fandom/original creation event open to writers, artists, and creators of all kinds! Our creators have shared their favorite tropes, and we’ve put together a list of 31, one per day through the month of May. We encourage creators to join us for this month of fun tropey mayhem.

Our goal is to promote motivation and help with habit building, so we’re encouraging authors to keep their ficlets under 1,000 words, artists to stick to making just a sketch, gif makers to only do a single image, etc., as applicable to whatever you’re making.

This event is primarily held on Tumblr, but you’re welcome to participate anywhere Duck Prints Press has an account (you can see all our current platforms here) and we’ll keep our eyes on our tag everywhere!

How can you participate? It’s easy! There’s just a few simple rules:

write a ficlet or a poem, create art, make a gif, or create any other content that you want, aligned with the prompt for the day!

post your correctly tagged fills to Tumblr, and we’ll reblog them! We’ll reskeet works on Bluesky, retoot those on Mastodon, you get the idea. Note: we do not use Twitter.

you must tag warnings such as gore, MCD, sexual content, etc., so that people can make informed decisions!

please also tag fandom and ship, so people can find what interests them!

we ask that you put the tags at the top of your post, so they’re easy to find.

if you write more than 1k words and post the whole text on Tumblr or wherever, please use a read more if the platform allows.

if you create something with NSFW content or potentially triggering material, please put the entire work under a read more.

Ping us (duckprintspress) or tag your creations “#may trope mayhem” and so we can find them! We’ll reblog all fills that follow the above rules and are posted between May 1st and June 8th, 2026. Posting starts May 1st!

If you post to AO3, you can also add them to our collection there!

I couldn't tell ART to stop reading. I could ask, but even that didn't always stop it.

It's not a story, it's a screenplay. I wasn't sulking. I don't sulk. I told you it was nothing.

The Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon, episode XXX

Our Flag Means Death, episode XXX

Canon-era Stede Bonnet and Edward Teach appear on the set of Sanctuary Moon.

SCENE: The main stage of the set of Sanctuary Moon. The bridge. Handlers and extras and assistants mill about. The director's chair, labelled, sits empty. STEDE BONNET and EDWARD TEACH appear in the middle; all activity swarms about them in a rainbow blur. A handler approaches.

HANDLER

You the new extras? Take your marks.

STEDE, aside to Ed

This doesn't look like the Republic of Pirates.

ED, looking around, gauging

Well, it's been rebuilt. Reckon if it's been gentrified, the English'll keep clear.

STEDE, focused on the actors as they stride in

Ooh, look at the fine fabrics!

HANDLER

Come on, you two, budge up, over here. Are you sure you're in the right costumes?

CUT TO:

Stede and Ed skulking behind a food truck.

STEDE

I don't know what to do!

ED

We won't be called back on set today, I think. We've got all night to figure out how to get back to our own time.

STEDE

Yeah, but in the meantime— I can't believe they gave me lines!

ED

You'll be great. Just give it a little more oomph.

STEDE

I'm an actor!

ED

Give it more than that. You are an actor. Now own it. Come on, say it properly. Go.

STEDE

I'm an actor. (clears throat) Wait, I can do it better. I'm an actor!

ED

Oh, boy.

STEDE, posing dramatically

Muse, why have you forsaken me?

ED

C'mon, let's try and find something to eat.

[Once they figure out how to return, Ed pirates a future-outfit for Stede. As they escape, Stede triggers a purple burglar alarm.

"Stay calm," Ed says.

"It'll be okay," Stede says. "You have our word."

This interaction causes a rift in the space-time continuum, which means they'll have to return, and that there will be approximately 253 more episodes].

That was the greatest compliment I could've received.

"Maybe I'll write a second one," I mumbled out loud.

Ed and Stede met in Louis’ Boat and came together for the first time in Stede’s Morning. They’ve not been parted since.

(Notes: Alma is eight; Louis, five. Ed owns a marina and makes jewellery. The story of his snake tattoo is in Stede’s Morning.)
