This is Takashi Murakami. He is a Japanese contemporary artist. He creates paintings, sculptures, and films populated by repeated motifs and mutating characters of his own creation. During the pandemic I’ve been very observant of the night sky. I like watching the stars and sometimes I look for the moon to see where it is. I drew a tree because my mom recently bought a tree that she really likes and it’s really beautiful, however I’m not really that good at drawing trees. Then the three colors of pink, light blue, and then dark blue is supposed to represent the time of day when the sun is setting and the sky sometimes turns pink and then the night time comes. The sunset is also something I’ve been very observant of. 

This is Ernest Chang. He is a Chinese-American multidisciplinary artist with deuteranopia (red-green color blindness). He has his own studio in Hong Kong. When doing my research on him I found out some very interesting things about him. For instance, he was raised in a bi-cultural family. He was born in Tampa, Florida and moved to Hong Kong at a young age. He works in mixed media and tries to blend traditional Chinese art and history with contemporary culture in his artworks. This is my discord abstract painting. I did two pairs of discord colors, which are blue and green, and purple and some type of red. I think they match pretty well. 

For the first pair of discord colors I wanted to do blue and red. But when I checked if they were the same tone or saturation it didn’t match so I added a bit of the blue to make it a bit darker and it turned into violet so I stuck with violet. As long as they both had the same tonal value was all that mattered to me. Then the second pair of discord colors are purple and orange. Again those weren't the colors I wanted to work with, but I was happy with the end result. 

Above are some compositions of shapes that I have created. I didn’t really know what I was really supposed to be doing so I just let my mind go wild and started to place shapes all around and see if something would be created out of it. Then I realized that I would most likely have to paint this so then I tried something more simple, which were the colorful squares. 

This is Math Bass. He is an American artist based in California. He works in painting, sculpture, and videos. His artworks are described as ambiguous in order for there to be a different interpretations of the painting within them. This is my warm cool color invention painting. I’m not very good at drawing or painting figures and animals, but I tried my best. I based my collage on fantasy because I really like fantasy, unicorns, royalty, etc.

This is my collage. I wanted it to be based off of fantasy. I didn’t really know what to choose to make a collage but then as I started to think of some ideas I remembered that I really like fantasy so I decided to go with that.
