It's wonky as hell and not at all what it's supposed to represent. But Yoshiki takes it bc Hikaru made it, bc it's proof he existed, bc he put it into the world. And it was bc of Yoshiki that he made it in the first place.

And 'hikaru' watches from across the table with the saddest envy as Yoshiki clings to this malformed creation. (The symbolism is entirely lost on Yoshiki.)

And then

Og Hikaru was the type to do jokes that make people uncomfortable. Mokmok himself has said in an interview that he committed some microaggressions

And it's quite clear from the very first moments of the first chapter and ep... Yoshiki is trying to talk to "him," but "he" keeps trying to get under his skin 👹

As soon as his performance falls apart, even the way he jokes around changes.

There are two moments that illustrate this well

• first panel, in some translations he says "What? You're asking me out on a date? haha just kidding."

• in the second scene, he opens his shirt, telling Yoshiki to take a good look at him, but then immediately says he's joking

Like seriously.... he's so afraid of making people uncomfortable, and he took over the body of a boy who LOVED doing it

Now, what happened in the very first scene of the first ep was something he felt obligated to do for six months. Six months. The sweetest boy in the world trying so hard to look cool.
