Line art of my angel illustration. While I’m working on this I’m realizing something. When I started learning how to draw digitaly, I was putting out art on the Internet (mostly on deviantart) because I was showcasing what I was learning and creating. I didn’t feel the pressure to create something, or to make sure that I had a new piece of I work to post every week. I was trying because I genuinely wanted to and because I really was enjoying myself. I think in the last few years I’ve been making art with posting something new or updating my portfolio/job hunting as a priority, and creating because I want to was on the back burner. I wanna get back to that place I was when I was in high school or college; before social media was a thing and before there was pressure on artist to post flawless artwork on a schedule. I want to experiment with style and technique, and I’m starting with this piece. I remember this art challenge from a few years ago and never participated, so I’m doing it now! Basically, you design a character and then redesign it in the style of 5 other artists. This one is my original design. Took me a while to decide on the other 5 styles I wanna draw (there are so many good ones out there!) but stay tuned to see which ones I picked/attempted. Been a while huh? After months of tech issues I can finally draw digitally again! I started by drawing my resolutions for this year.
