I noticed this our generation doll set had an iPod with wired headphones!

It was such a fun moment to remember back when I’d carry my blue iPod nano everywhere 🥲

It all started with a tiny piece of fabric with farm animals.

I have been sewing this farmcore doll outfit, lovely shown by my Our Generation doll Hope.

I used a sewing pattern from 1985 and fabrics from the 90s.

The blouse I made into a dress and the dress I made into a pinafore. Plus altering skirt and sleeves length and adding extra ruches, trims, embroidery and bows 💙

Also made her a pair of bloomers with this stunning basketweave fabric.

Today I did a photoshoot in my backyard.

tip for sewing with heds: finger splints. they are pretty expensive, but also can be diy-ed with some wire, wire cutting device (pliers, etc), and some sort of tool for loop sizing!

This blog is definitely focused on American Girl dolls, but generally, I don't actually care about brands while collecting... Honestly, I don't really even care that much about quality... I have to admit, I like off-brands just as much! I've thought about making a side log more focused on play rather than collection, which would show more budget/off-brand/less popular dolls/toys.

I mostly bring this up because I've been really interested in Target's Our Generation doll line, and I've ordered one that should arrive any day now! As much as I love AG dolls, I tend to be a little cautious to actually do anything with them. I'm clumsy and manage to break things just by looking at them... I want to have some dolls that I feel comfortable taking along with me. I'm not sure if this is very relatable, though, so if I do make the sideblog, I would mostly just be posting for myself.

(Side note ... Do I talk/type weird? Do my posts read like essays? It's hard to articulate myself the way I want and still sound casual... 😭😭😭 Oh well)

I just got a sewing kit! I'm hoping to repair Addy's dress. I have HEDS and it really affects my hands, so I'm guessing I'll struggle a bit, but I'm hoping determination will pull me through...

I did it! It took an hour and multiple tutorials, and it's pretty obvious, but I did it! It's better than having a big hole, anyway. It's more towards the back and close to a pleat, so it shouldn't be too noticeable most of the time. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with my work!
