she  presses  her  fingers  against  the  soft  velvet  texture  of  the  flower  petals  in  her  lap ,   tying  stems  together  until  she’s  left  with  the  perfect  combination  or  reds ,   yellows ,   and  oranges .   she  used  to  play  with  flowers  as  a  child ,   dressing  up  and  decorating  herself  in  their  bold  colors .   a  smile  reaches  her  eyes  as  she  extends  her  arms  to  place  the  hand  -  made  crown  on  his  head ,   keeping  back  a  quiet  laugh  at  the  sight .   ❝  it  suits  you .  ❞

LOUGING AROUND IN THE SUNLIGHT HAD QUICKLY BECOME ONE OF HIS FAVORITE PASSTIMES,    so long as  there was nothing of interest going on.   without visitors,   the mountain was usually quiet,   &  she was not  rowdy  company.   if anyone would have come up to disturb the peace,   he did not expect it to be  her  of all people.   instead,   she seemed to favor joining him in  part silence,   part  quiet  conversation when offered.   

the lightning rod

whether it’s your turbulent nature,   your flash quick mind, or the air of unknown about you,   your undercurrent is the lightning rod.   you are somewhat unpredictable,   but if we unravelled we’d see you know exactly what you’re doing,  but it’s makes you feel less vulnerable to pretend it wasn’t planned  . some people stay back from you,   but others would follow you cross country,   for the very same reason.   they don’t know enough about you.   the difference is in who wants to learn more.   keep your golden nature,    it’s exciting,   but don’t be afraid to admit what you know.    matshona dhliwayo said   “lightning strikes but does not roar”   your bite will always be worse than your bark,    keep that close to your chest.

right person wrong time

seriously dude you need to stop crying over your ex...   this surely cannot be healthy.     you probably think that somehow someway you could still make things work and fix your mistakes but if shit didn't work out it is for a reason.    if you never move on you are never gonna find the person who is actually right for you.    get a grip you are better than this

𝐊𝐀𝐙𝐔𝐊𝐎  * & .  ———  there was no motivation to be his friend aside from just …  that she wanted to .  maybe in part of some worry as she seldom saw him around  &  got curious on some days where the RED - HEAD had disappeared to …  she has heard things from students who gossiped  &  rumored  ,  yet her feelings remained sorely unchanged despite whatever they said of him .  she wasn’t taught to judge or demean others so perhaps ,  that played its part day to day as she became closer to him ,  feeling like she made progress in some way .  here she had been ,  sitting by him with another homemade lunch  &  smiling brightly that he hadn’t pushed her away …  or so that was what her worry had been the entire time ,  relieved greatly by his acceptance .  almost previously discouraged after not being able to find him initially  ,  it was good that she hadn’t stop her pursuit even if the bells were to go off ,  ending the lunch break …  she was determined .

❝  um ..  six o’clock .  it’s fine though !  i promise ,  ❞    she sheepishly giggled .   KAZUKO’s normal routine usually started a bit later than just six …  but she genuinely hadn’t mind to wake up so early if it meant she could share a lunch with him .  she placed his bento in front of him ,  chopsticks that was wrapped in with the bentos having been placed on top  &  then went to prepare hers ,  taking off the lid .  if it could be any cuter …  than the little cutouts of little critters in the nori  or  the rice shaped into the head of a bear .  she was exquisitely proud of her work here .     ❝  do you like it ?  hehe ..  i had to watch some videos since i’m not really good at making cute bentos .  hopefully ,  i can get better at it .  ❞     KAZUKO looked at him ,  eyes watching for his expressions …  even if they were so little  &  far inbetween .  even the slightest glimmer of his appreciation that shown in his eyes would make her heart race …  either way ,  she began to dig in when he picked up his bento . 

HE WOULD NEVER QUITE UNDERSTAND HER MOTIVATION,    if anything,   she should have felt some need to preserve her own reputation   —   maybe she didn’t care much for it,    but surely,    someone  had to tell her that he was  bad news.    as much as he knew that he was  undeserving,   he  was  selfish  as well.    getting to spend  private  time with a   girl  who was as cute as her;   smiling so brightly just for him,   it was  something  else.    his acceptance was not so  valiant  as she may have thought   —   enjoying her a little more than he felt he was  allowed to.     he intentionally made himself  difficult  to find,    that was the nature of how he acted;    all she really had to follow was the  smell  of cigarette smoke,   likely it would lead to him;  or those that he hung around with.    he could try to mask that part of his personality as much as he wanted to try and make himself  look good,    but it would never fully  disappear  for her.   shuten didn’t  doubt  that she knew he was doing worse anyways,    if she didn’t … well,   he’d hate to be the one to personally disappoint her.  

Amusement laces her non-committal hum, bright hues flickering to the streaks of indigo settling in peach skies. Well, that much was true. The day had quietly drifted away with only the night to remain. If only she could spend the rest of it in good company; a man, a suspicious carbon copy of legend (though he denies any ties) who plates himself an expert drunk. She stares as he takes note of her poor-man’s map, squinting at his features – such bizarre resemblance to the tales. But there was no way, demons were incapable of anything beyond sheer violence. And drinking oneself to death was hardly a crime against humanity. Maybe himself. Ah, but her thoughts are cut short by his unfortunate answer; it might have been a stretch to assume, she swore he was familiar with the area. But, it was a simple oversight. She flashes a toothy beam, glancing down at the map, “   Well, I will be very glad to have any expertise. My navigational skills leave a little to be desired, but – mm!   ” She nods following the drink back with her gaze, “   Assignment makes it sound cooler, but it’s really just patrol. I guess that’s why they’re only sending me.   ” Wispy brows twist at the thought, maybe the night wouldn’t be as exciting as she’d imagined if they predicted little danger. Or they deemed her competent enough to handle the threat. 

“   And how do you know that?  ” She laughs, an addled smile tugging at her lips; how could he be so certain there would be nothing of interest there if he didn’t know much – in his own words. “   I mean, I’d like it to be nothing.   ” Ryu takes a brief cursory glance around, quieting her voice for just the two to hear, “   But I’m stationed to the mountain because ..  there may or may not be demons on it’s path.   ”  The bridge of nose crinkles as she racks her head to question the blatant denial. “   If there’s nothing of interest than hopefully the night goes smoothly!  ” A pause as she leans forward, “   Are you worried I’ll find your long lost twin up there, Douji?   ” Her tease is lighthearted, one hand smoothing over the curled ends of the map, attention dropping to its center. “   It’s also why I won’t be here to keep you company for very long. Honestly, I probably should have left earlier, but .. I wanted to see you, so I did.   ” She shrugs, tracing the jagged lines with her pointer and resting at its base, in search of where she was to begin her journey.

“  I swore you were from around here though. Okay, what can you tell me about then? I’ll be there all night, maybe you know something useful and you don’t even know it!   ”

OF COURSE HE’S FAMILIAR,    the  locals  may not have been  —  ask anyone else in that bar and they would not have been  quite so open to  the thought of someone walking those dreaded paths;   there was a reason that they were all  overgrown   &  ill - kept.   they would have thought her an idiot,   perhaps someone  looking  to die.    he couldn’t say that it would have been her  fate  if he had anything to do with it … but if the poorly  hidden  secret  was to slip,   he doubted that she would have been so fond to have his help.    eyes flick up to her as she  stares,   it’s not  hard  to guess what she is thinking.    the suspicion,    blatant mistrust,   had been plaguing their situational friendship since the beginning  —   and yet,   he cannot bring himself to deny it so whole - heartedly.   as he is  lying  to her,    and she is  painfully  aware of it.   when he would have to  tell  her that she wasn’t wrong the entire time with her  obvious lack of ability to be so easily fooled,    neither one of them would have been surprised.   the only detail that she had  yet  to catch him on is the  blood thirst.    he’s  fully  capable of being horrible if he so wishes,   but she won’t catch him.   shuten douji hadn’t allowed himself to  mistreat  humans in a long time,    and he had no intention to.   breaking  hundreds  of years  of  trust  was hardly worth the taste of blood;   he’d once been obsessed with it,   but  not  anymore.   the thought of it could make any human  shiver,    but he wouldn’t  speak  so openly on a past that not even he could remember with clarity.   ❝  a  patrol?  ❞   his brows raise some,   unsure of what to expect from that;   to only  send  her …  it seemed as if they were  underestimating  a lot of things,   that,   or they didn’t expect her to do much.   it was difficult to tell which was the truth.   maybe there was  only  minor demons lurking there,   but it could easily become  overwhelming  someone who was  just  a mortal.   

               𝚂𝚃𝙰𝚈𝙸𝙽𝙶   𝙲𝙰𝙻𝙼   and   so   strong   around   him   was   surprising   but   just   as   intriguing.   Sometimes   messing   with   demons   or   other   creatures   that   are   long-lived   was   quite   risky   but   just   this   taste   left   pleasure   on   his   lips   and   he   even   craved   to   know,   feel   and   desire   something   that   is   much   harder   to   get   than   a   human   life   or   lover.   The   infatuation   in   his   eyes   as   well   as   the   apparent   intrigue   was   what   meant   Kuya   would   not   let   go   so   easily.   Especially   with   someone   else   resisting   him.   

               The   sudden   grip   on   his   wrist   made   all   the   hair   stand   up   on   his   body   and   his   ears   straight   as   a   string   trembled.   Bicolored   eyes   slightly   opened   with   a   second   of   surprise   to   fangs   clenching   through   the   small   frustration   building   in   his   body.   He   hated   it   when   someone   had   the   nerve   to   touch   him   without   his   own   permission   but   the   force   put   into   it   by   the   red   haired   man   wasn’t   that   brutal.   He   even   liked   that   he   was   that   strong.   Features   softened   when   he   licked   his   lower   lip.   This   is   going   to   be   a   really   interesting   encounter.   ❝   Oya   ?   Hmm   can’t   say   that’s   not   an   accurate   statement.   Therefore,   maybe   you’re   the   one   to   keep   me   company,   hm   ?   ❞   A   quiet   giggle   broke   from   the   smirking,   pink   lips   when   with   his   free   hand   he   reached   to   let   the   tip   of   a   single   nail   scratch   the   other   under   his   chin.   Head   tilted   slightly   when   the   pink   mist   inside   his   wicked   eyes.   Attempt   to   relax   and   charm   the   other   was   silly   but   he   couldn’t   resist   the   temptation.   Such   a   strong   lover   with   equally   strong   mind   to   break   in   his   slim   hands.   ❝   I   think   we   can   spend   a   really   good   time   together   …   just   look   within   my   eyes   and   put   your   trust   in   me.   I’ll   make   you   feel   good.   ❞   Kuya   purred.   His   tail   sweeping   from   side   to   side   as   he   got   closer   to   the   demon.   

HE’S UNSURE OF WHAT THE PLEASURE IS IN PLAYING WITH DANGEROUS PREY,   but  he’s  never  quite felt what it’s like to have a truly strong opponent in a  long time.    post - beheading,   he’d  dulled  in personality greatly.   he stopped  seeking  out those who were  stronger  than himself,   he was humbled to a great degree;    instead,   he allowed for ibaraki douji to do such a thing in his stead.   if there was ever  anyone  who could beat  him,   only then would he allow himself to  worry,   so far  —  they had yet to meet anyone close.   many had   not  been so keen to  start wars  after seeing what could come of it.
