Nightcrawler's sacrifice is so bittersweet. On the one hand, I am so heartbroken over losing him because he is my favourite character, but on another, it was so beautiful and the ultimate act of love between two adoptive siblings.
Out of all the X-Men, Kurt knew better than anyone just how heartbroken Rogue was over losing Remy in Season 1 and how it completely destroyed her. Rogue has lived with pain, heartbreak, guilt and regret ever since the day he died. She lost her spark, she lost her other half, but most of all... she lost the biggest piece of her heart.
Kurt wanted his sister to be happy and when she finally got the chance to save Remy for good, but at the cost of her own life, he couldn't stand for it. It's unfair how in an effort to save the love of your life, most of the time, you have to sacrifice your own life in the process. Kurt couldn't let that happen to Rogue.
He couldn't let her die just after she finally got Remy back! She deserved to spend the rest of her life with her soulmate by her side and there's no way, Remy could live without Rogue either. Nightcrawler always knew since day 1, Rogue and Remy were meant to be together. He wasn't going to stand by and watch this couple suffer endless heartbreak so he made the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of his sister's happiness.
Rest in Peace, Nightcrawler aka Kurt Wagner. You were an underrated and amazing character of X-Men and you will be missed!!!! 😭😭😭
