There's a pro-AI ad by Meta / Facebook that enrages me for two reasons:

It frames the AI debate as "optimists who believe in people" (the pro-AI side!) vs. "pessimists who hate the future" (the AI skeptics) which is remarkably dishonest

It uses one of my favorite David Bowie songs, "Five Years." David Bowie would have hated AI. Also it's a song about the impending end of civilization. I assume Meta's ad agency is unaware of the concept of irony.

I did end up getting a double of Fantasia, but her face up is slightly different and she has a softer pink tint, so she ended up being perfect for the glittery custom I wanted to make. I put a gloss coat on her hair and it made the details much more defined.

Really enjoying the idea that Grace's angry outburst in Denmark became a meme. The Angry Scientist. It shows up in discussions of egregiously bad sci-fi movies and arguments with antivaxxers and astrophage deniers, in forms ranging from pristine screencap to super-crunchy jpeg. There's an animated parody in the style of Ace Attorney. His students use it without realizing it's him.

In his first week on the Gansu six different people asked him about it and four asked Stratt why she hired Angry Scientist Meme guy.
