Hate that the term "post-nut clarity" gets applied to guilt and shame people feel after watching porn or having sex. These feelings aren't any more real or reasonable that the horniness was. Which describes men who, “cannot love what they desire or desire what they love”.

Animerica editions make me very nostalgic! I ended up buying these second hand a few years back for archival’s sake.

These were released from 1998 to 2001 if my memory serves me right (didn't discover this series until around late 2004 to early 2005). It'll always have a special place in my heart.

Having your interests mocked as a kid and general low self esteem will have you insulting the things you like even when they're generally considered very good. Because you like it, and historically when you like something it's stupid and not worth anyone's time. So you will say nonsense like "I recommend this book/game/film, but it's okay if you hate it, it sucks, I really enjoyed it but that's because I'm an idiot" and you are recommending them the Citizen fucking Kane of that particular media type. And importantly: you need to stop doing this it is killing you

Bipolar Disorder Explained

Since my bipolar diagnosis, I've been trying to make sense of it. I found a succinct way of putting it I wanted to share.

Bipolar disorder is many things, but most noticeably a dysregulation of the meaning making centers of your brain. They go haywire.

Mania: Too much meaning. The construction worker outside your house means you're being watched. The newscaster is giving you signals about government secrets. Red cars are confirmation that God is telling you to go to Arizona. Seeing meaning where there is no meaning.

Then the meaning making centers burn out and turn into...

Depression: No meaning. Why get up? Why eat? Why live at all? There's no point to anything. Who cares if my friends and family would be sad that I'm dead. They'll be dead themselves soon anyway. None of this matters.

Then the cycle repeats. Hope this helps! It helped me to finally put it into words!

I draw happy, colorful animals because it always pulls me away from the darkness I wish to escape to sometimes.

Constructive criticism when not specifically requested by the writer is not welcome because the purpose of constructive criticism is to help the writer improve and fanfic writers do not need to improve their FUCKING HOBBY. I'll never understand people demanding high quality writing in fanfiction circles. It's like walking into a McDonald’s and then getting mad that the menu isn't on the same level as a five-star restaurant.

There's millions of published works out there, read one of those if you want to see writing that has been professionally edited.
