Happy Valentimes Day. This has nothing to do with it. Instead, I would like to play a game.
Here's how it works: I'm going to start this post with a movie tagline -- like something you would see on a movie poster -- and the next person reblogs and puts a short synopsis of what that movie is about and adds a tagline for the next person.
For example, say I post: Will you answer The Call?
The next person would reblog and add a synopsis: Experience the frustration of a dedicated mother whose adult children never answer her phone calls. Despite their constant reminders to text, she calls and calls and calls. Will you be the one to answer?
And then that person adds their own tagline.
So, let's kick things off. Here's the first tagline:
Some problems are too big to solve with a gun. Her solution ... A BIGGER GUN.
Bridezilla who knows serration is only good for bread knives goes on a rampage with a samurai sword.
It will take friends and foes alike to restore their world to order...or end it once and for all.
Whatever it is you're doing, you're doing it wrong and people are gonna be mad.

I need this flag lol
My best posts are discards.
Having a rescue dog that's in her final days is an experience in small victories and heartbreak. @defiantpotato could speak to this with more authority than I, as she's Rosie's primary caregiver, but we've had some good experiences lately.
Background for those who may not be up-to-speed on our household pack, we adopted an elderly dog, Rosalinda, in February. Going into the adoption we knew she was blind, but we discovered pretty quickly that she is also deaf (or at least very hard of hearing). We also came to the conclusion that she suffers from dementia.
Lately, we've had a spate of good days. A good day is most evident in that she doesn't spend most of her waking time turning in tight circles -- which is apparently a classic sign of doggie dementia. On a very good day, she interacts more with her surroundings: more sniffing, sometimes an attempt to climb up on something. Until just a couple of days ago, we'd only clocked like three significant interactions with people in the house. Once, she pawed at my leg. Later, she wagged her tail at my oldest a couple of times. She seems really keen on Daughter #1, and is pretty much the only person she'll lie down on/next to.
Monday, we took Rosa to Petco to get a trim. Ultimately that did not happen. The groomers said she was reacting poorly and they didn't want to take any chances. I suppose I understand the groomer's point of view. She's blind and deaf and will really wriggle when she doesn't want to be held/confined, but she's otherwise super chill. She seldom makes any noise. She never attempts to bite. @defiantpotato picked her up from the groomer and Rosa had an immediate reaction to her. She cuddled into her, and later napped on her lap for a good long time. The following morning, she sniffed the potat's hands and started wagging her tail excitedly (which I've never seen her do).
Tuesday and Wednesday were good days. Very good days, really. Today she is out of sorts. And it hurts your heart. Especially realizing there are more of these days ahead of us than the good ones.
We often joke that she thinks of me as "the hands" since we imagine it's like some giant pair of hands materialize to carry her around, manhandle her into doggy diapers, and present treats directly to her mouth. I was thrilled that she sniffed my legs and wagged her tail in recognition. It was so gratifying.
