I know this is an unpopular opinion but I dont care for a diagonal cut sandwich. The pointy corners are really off putting. I dont want 4 bites of pointy bread crust.

Do you ever do something you know will probably end with you hurting your own feelings, but it is so satisfying that you do it anyway? Yeah, me too.
Look, I've reached super-duper-adult status. If I dont take risks now, when can I??

I'm watching See You At Work Tomorrow! And there is a restaurant called Slow, Poke.
I think that comma is doing some heavy lifting.
When Tess Morgan's son came home with a tattoo, she was griefstricken. She knew her reaction was OTT (he's 21) but it signalled a change in their relationship
This is gold this, absolute gold, the most over the top melodramatic hysterical ridiculous thing I’ve ever read
This is actually so interesting to read- it’s from 2012 but its full of the same anxieties, even some of the same phrasing that many of the guardian’s later pieces on transness use. really hammers home how much of the terfism that emerged in the late 10s was middle class mothers angry at a loss of control over their adult children- whether that be their bodies or their friends or their opinions- and making that everyone’s problem because they have the power to do so
It’s very interesting, and I would find it hilarious if I weren’t so occupied being disturbed by how very exactly it sounds like parents upset about their kids transitioning.
there is so much of that through-line of what basically boils down to white woman tears though. “I’m not in charge of my child anymore and that makes me really sad” almost as if being cast in the social role/identity box of Mom Of All Time can be detrimental to one’s mental health and can produce some exquisitely deranged behavior, especially when your child rejects that kind of box
I see women like this and the self (and societal) agrandisement of motherhood. Instead of seeing motherhood as a teaching position, they view it as ownership, mind, body and soul of the child. They swallow all of the societal rules and expectations including purity culture and vomit it on the child until the child cowers beneath it or breaks away from it. If they have the strength to break away, the mother figure punishes the child with these hystrionics. It's sick.
I can totally believe it happened. Performative patriotism like performative religious belief will always show people to be the attentions seeking assets they are.

Did you have this t-shirt ~ most likely with a poor quality iron on image ~ when America celebrated the bicentennial?
No, but I had a red, white and blue purse. I was 12.
In my attempt to find hobby(s) that I enjoy, I have ordered watercolor supplies. I've been watching tutorials. I think I would like to make greeting cards. I want a cricut but Im holding off to see how it goes.
Dating has completely stalled, but I do have a situation with a beautiful man. I'm 200% sure it will never move past our weekly phone call but it's good for now and scratching an itch. I kind of like that there is no obligation or expectation. Every call is a gift that gives for a couple of days.
Damn near impossible.
Its not fucking easy!
reblog if you’ve had an online friendship that’s lasted more than 2 years
#I have online aquaintanceships that have been going for 17 years
I have had varying degrees of friendship and acquaintances that started online for 10-15 years. Some are close irl friends now, some are close online friends due to distance and some are not close but are treasured.
I was watching a video and accidentally swiped and saw a post that said you're allowed to want things and by not admitting or allowing anyone to know you want things youre starving yourself. (Paraphrasing)

Today is one of those days where I feel like ants under my skin and bees in my brain and sitting in my chair and trying to focus is taking all of my energy.
