imagine a baby minotaur who has just come into the world and his first instinct is to love and want to be loved by his mother, just for her to lock him away underground. nothing in the myth says that the labyrinth was built before his birth. maybe he knew what the world above ground was like, maybe he felt the sun and saw the clouds. maybe he got to smell the breeze and play in the flowers.

he was just a baby, he knew the stars and the sky but they were taken from him. he never saw them again.

imagine his first night, he’s so young so of course he’s afraid. all he wants is his mother, a mother that will never love him the way he deserves to be loved. he’s confused. she’s supposed to love him and protect him. why is he being locked underground? what did he do wrong? why don’t they love him? he’s so scared and cold.

Rhysand: I miss my sister. I miss being an older brother to her.

Gwyn: What do you miss about it most?

Rhysand: Everything. Annoying her. Teasing her. Being her conspirator and keeping her secrets. I have a family of my own now, but nothing can mend that loss.

Gwyn: It sounds like you were a good brother.

Rhysand: I tried to be.

Gwyn: I never had an older brother.
