The owner of this acount is a queer adult (over the age of 25). I collect dolls and stuffed animals. Adrian is a doll made to look like a vampire and he is my son and I love him.
I am a queer adult that collects dolls, stuffed animals, and other ‘toys.’ I also play some ‘childish’ video games. All of that will be shared here. Any video games that are more mature will be talked about on my main blogs. Everything here will stay PG.
Adrian is a vampire reborn doll. Reborns are dolls made by people, sometimes out of blank kits and sometimes by redoing store bought dolls. In Adrian’s case, he was a store bought doll that was turned into a vampire by an artist. Adrian is my favorite of my whole collection of things. He is my son whom I love.
I will edit this to add more details when I have the spoons.
A warning: I am making this blog in order to connect with fellow adults that have similar interests. I do intend for this to be a place free of mature content, but it is not my intention for this to be a blog meant for children.

Start with a large sheet of cardboard. Stores like home depot have large moving boxes that come flat like this, perfect for this project.
I use a projector to trace my butterfly, but you can also put tracing paper up to a screen and glue it to your cardboard, or ask your library to let you use their projector.
Make sure to trace not just the outside, but also all of the markings and patterns. Doing the antennae as well and keeping the scrap cardboard will allow you to measure out the right length.
2.
Cut around the outside of your lepidopteran and crease where the wings meet each other and the body. I use my hands, but a ruler can help. After bending your wings into a natural position, make the body and head with your clay of choice, mine is foam clay which is cheap and easy to use.
Blend the sides of the body into the wings just enough to stick, this will hold the pose you've chosen.
Prop up the wings with whatever is around and keep in a safe spot to dry. Mine dries overnight at this size. You can see I've used bottles for mine
3.
Once dry and solidified, the clay holds the wings in place in the way you left them.
Measure your antennae wire a little longer than needed and poke it into the clay. If it doesn't stay, add a little dot of super or hot glue at the base.
Glue a mounting bracket on the back. You can angle this however you like to have your lepidopteran upright, sideways, or even upside down
4.
Paint your sections individually so you don't lose your trace lines. I go in with white first to cover up the print on the cardboard, then put the correct colors over that.
If making a high contrast lep like this, go in with black at the end to clean up your edges.
If adding any fur to the body, get a piece larger than you need and hot glue it on, then trim the backing underneath the fibers with tiny snips, as not to cut the fur itself, and carefully glue the edges of the backing to the body as well
5.
Brush a matte finish like mod podge over your final product. Hold your lep up to where you want it to hang, then mount with a nail

Many people are accusing Schleich of using AI to create some of their recent figures.
Schleich denies this.
Maybe they are lying, maybe the social media team simply isn’t aware, or maybe just maybe no AI was used in the creation of these figures.
However, I don’t really care because they 100% are using AI elsewhere.
Personally, I still think AI was used to create the figures but I have no way to prove it. Meanwhile they outright admit to using AI in other areas.
We cannot let this go unanswered. Please let Schleich know your feelings on the matter. Please be polite in your communication with them as anything aggressive could be written off.
I fear after years of being the go to for many adult collectors, they now only care to cater to children who are less discerning about the products they receive. Schleich’s quality has severely dropped and that is extremely saddening to myself and others who have collected Schleich for years. They may not care to listen to us at this point but I have to try.
I am baffled by how many things that people formerly agreed was unacceptable are fine if AI does it. Companies will buy shitty ads or logos that would never have been greenlit if humans made them. Lies and errors in important documents are fine if an AI instead of a human filled out the documents. Surely we all agree that the product images in advertisements should be of the product?? Why is it okay to lie about what the product looks like if the robot generates the fake image and not the human??
Close-ups of the gen AI assisted packaging photos vs. the finished sculpts. These toy designs are absolutely made to prey upon a younger or uneducated consumer. The packaging is a representation of what you're getting, not the actual product. It's easy enough to take actual product photos and make a graphic once the prototypes have been made, but this is obviously an executive decision to use AI to draft/create a toy series, then try and replicate the style in 3D. It's extremely lazy, especially for a company that has the funds to pay sculptors and artists to produce new figures and series. This is about mins and maxes, nothing more.
It should also be noted that Schleich partners with various accredited establishments like museums, so make sure to mention you will be reporting this to their partners as well.
Labubus are blind bags but they're also blind bags with some of the most insane dark patterns stacked on top. The online store for them has a thing where they tell you what you got the second you order it online so that you can immediately try again if you didn't get the thing you wanted.
There's also a shake feature that is designed to encourage you to buy more than one by narrowing down the possibility space on a crate of options so that if you're hunting a specific model you can verify that it's guaranteed to be in one of these three IF you buy all three right now!!!!!
When people say that labubus are the beanie babies/troll dolls/furbies of 2025, I feel like perhaps they aren't considering is that in 1995 if you wanted a beanie baby you just went to the store and bought it and if the store was out you didn't buy five beanie babies trying to get the one you wanted.

Can I just add that children deserve realistic toy animals too. I feel like it's a natural response to say that the company is catering to children, but in reality, I think that they are being patronizing to children by assuming that they want or will be satisfied with less lifelike or quality designs. I grew up with Schleich toys and adored them because of how realistic and sturdy they were. it was truly what the company was known for and what made them special. Seeing them using AI on top of a decrease in quality and shift in style to appeal to marketing trends is a huge disappointment...
You’re not the first to say it but at least you were kinder than some of the others.
I wish y’all wouldn’t fixate on my poor wording. I can’t change it now that the post is being reblogged a lot. But I didn’t mean to imply all children don’t care about the quality of their products.
Based on their instagram ads, Schleich’s target age is pretty young and thus reliant on the adults in their lives to acquire these figures. Those kids aren’t going to know what AI is most of the time, and sadly a lot of parents aren’t going to care. And quite frankly, when I was that age I was just happy to have an animal figure. I didn’t care about quality or realism at that point. Some kids do but a lot don’t and a lot simply won’t have the ability to complain properly because they’re reliant of the adults to convey their disappointment to the company and that just won’t happen in many cases.
I’m sorry I didn’t go into extreme detail about what I meant in the original post. I wanted to more focus on the AI aspect and offhandedly mentioned why I thought Schleich was making the choices they are.
Kids absolutely deserve high quality and realistic figures. I never said they didn’t and it’s really upsetting that so many people are claiming I did. All I meant was Schleich is targeting people who won’t or won’t be able to complain.
If you know me at all, you know I’m obsessed with zebras, donkeys, and equine hybrids. Recently I started collecting figures of them and finally, my collection is pretty much complete.
It started with Schleich, getting every single zebra and donkey made by them that I could (and of course their mule) then it expanded into similar brands like CollectA, Papo, Mojo and Safari ltd. Then eventually I got some Breyer Stablemates. And finally Breyers traditional sized ones.
I have every mule, donkey, and zebra sculpt ever produced by Breyer minus their oldest donkey that I won’t be getting because it just isn’t very nice lol.
I have a majority of the donkeys and zebras produced by Schleich and similar brands. Plus of course Schleich’s one mule. There’s a small handful I’m missing, some because they simply aren’t easily acquired and some because they aren’t good quality. Bonus, I also have Safari LTD’s giant zebra which is pretty much to scale with Breyer Traditional equines.
I think it’s pretty safe to say my collection is complete for the moment. Breyer is coming out with a new donkey at the end of this year, which I’ll of course be getting. I also may collect more colors on sculpts I already have, though only new releases. No more hunting down old ones. There are a few old ones that would be kinda cool to have but I don’t need them to be happy. I’m very pleased with my herd as they stand.
A somewhat comprehensive list of models is below the cut. I likely will post in more detail about each individual equine later.

Hickory Hills Wall Street, Brighty sculpt. 2016.
Balking mule sculpt, leopard Appaloosa. Only 400 made. 1994.
Winnifred, Molly mule sculpt. 2025.

Leopard Appaloosa stablemate mule. 1999.
Miguel, the zonkey. Donkey stablemate sculpt. 2024.
Many in the picture are not zebra related and will not be mentioned. That is just how they are displayed and I didn’t want to ruin my set up for a single picture.
“I Will Survive” quagga. Zebra sculpt. 2024.
“Short and Sweet” holiday surprise bag zebras, gold, red, blue, and green.

The big one is a Safari LTD zebra. The rest are a mix of various brands. Schleich, CollectA, Mojo, Safari LTD, and others. The rainbow one is Schleich.
Picture 4.
A mix of Schleich, Mojo, Papo, CollectA, and others.
Really only the first two are made to look nice. The other two are just set up so everyone could fit on the shelf lol. I hope to make things look better down the road.
The first one is definitely my favorite too. All the models fit together so nicely!

I’ve been keeping an eye out for dolls that could ride my horses. Found these girls today and they’re perfect! The adult is a Breyer figure we got a whole back. The kids are “hey bestie” dolls.
They’re a good size for breyer scale children and have really good articulation! They look so good on my mare, Callais.
I’ve also started collecting some mini items. They’re surprise balls of miniature items that are just about the right scale for my breyer horses and people.
I’m planning on creating scenes with the dolls, items, and horses. Should be fun!
The girls are able to hold the food! And I found my old (1996) Barbie popcorn machine. They’re having a slumber party with the puppies. These are my old Barbie puppies named after the dogs we had at the time, Ginger, Tanner, and Baby Dog.

I was having writers block and so I took a break and soon enough it was 3 in the morning and I had impulsively sewn together a tiny mouse you’re welcome
I see people reblogging this with “to buy” but this pattern is free??? Someone even asked me “why don’t you charge money for it, it took you forever to put the document together” and I said “Not a lot of people have money and if they have some fabric scraps and a couple of buttons lying around they can make themselves a little mouse friend for free and that might make them happy and that makes me happier than receiving money???” Make yourself a liddol creacher! Heals the Soul!
