You recall how I was making a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon RPG? Well, I stopped. I wasn't having a good time setting up all the art assets.

I realized that I was having the most fun writing the dialogue. So I put two and two together, and here I am: right back at the origin point. Mystery Dungeon Fanfiction.

I wrote four chapters of it and put it on AO3. I'm much happier, and reviews are positive so far.

Debating whether to type a gigantic hatred post but for now I just feel empty inside.

Silksong is very difficult. I probably should not be playing it because my soul is weak. However I play it anyway.

Let me outline your defeat for you

It's kind of nice playing this on its 25th anniversary. Yes, it's very dull and easy to put down, but it's also very easy to pick up again.

Sometimes this makes me want to go back to FF14, but I stop wanting that real quick when I remember that this game requires one button while FF14 requires thirty at minimum. I know my limits.

This time, I've hit upon an odd idea that feels appealing.

About twelve years ago, I did some writing for a group called PMD Explorers, which was about Pokemon who live in a society. They joined mercenary groups and had adventures. And my stories went like this: what if there was a rescue team who were losers?

The group folded after a while, but I remember it fondly. Returning to the setting honestly feels pretty embarrassing, but the fact is I never really let it go...

I don't know what'll come of this if anything, but thanks to RPG Maker it feels like the pieces are falling into place pretty quickly. I've managed to cobble together a version of the Pokemon battle system by sampling damage formulas from the games.
