Knowing I’m having a right knee replacement 12/2, (that’s my plan right now)...I am getting started on outside holiday decorating...no...not inside..too early but since frost will be here soon I tossed my Asparagus Ferns ...I think empty urns so unattractive so I filled them with twigs picked up on the roadside , thanks to Zeta and dried Cryptomeria foliage...the gorgeous mustard yellow was found that way...nature’s gifts really are amazing ...I’m not going to do too much Christmas decorating ...just a tad..I learned my lesson last replacement..those first 3 weeks of being in , home physical therapy and following drs.rules and looking at the same mantel decorations for 3 weeks just about did me in so this time I’m not doing so much to be bored with ...well..that’s my plan right now anyway..🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ #deborahgibsondesign #urns #cryptomeria #kneereplacement #christmasdecorating (at Greenville, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CHD5wzJjvLH/?igshid=1x8qhxf8i8gj0

The first early days of Covid and shut down provided me quite a few days at home..as I am sure many of you had and are still having..I had joined Ancestry.com several years ago but really not having much time to devote to detective work I didn’t get the genealogical bug!... WELL!.. I’m here to tell you now I’m hooked...this book is written about my 13th Great Grandmother, by @connie_lapallo ..I hate to admit it but I was too much into cheerleading in high school NOT the birth of our Nation..actually studying in general...I’m okay with admitting the truth...I knew , on my Grandfather’s side that my 9th Great Grandfather was responsible for saving the Jamestown settlement, in 1622, from the Indian massacre, but had not known about my 13th Great Grandmother...reading the story of a woman’s’ crossing the ocean , surviving a hurricane, in what could not have been the best of ships, then to go thru starving, famine, watching so many die, freezing, fear... what an incredible story so many of our ancestors went thru...the settlers, the American Indians...what suffering they ALL did to create this nation...actually we can say today we are all still suffering in many ways ...this is not a political statement ..just jumped into a rabbit hole here😳😳😳..just wanted to share this book info for those who might be interested... #deborahgibsondesign #jamestown #immigrants (at Greenville, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CG4x1L0jFsH/?igshid=17lj7wb0tyqa2

Have you ever sat around with friends and come up with what seemed at the time a great idea??... part of my Wine Group thought experimenting with a certain cake recipe would be a great, fun idea...I whirled around and threw together a table for a light lunch..one arrived @lisakistler with trays of “measured and ready to mix up”..one arrived with 2 already baked and iced cakes, @cjyarborough using 2 different recipes for same type of cake..my Maui Sister-in-Law , @mauimom15 has been here..so glad she could whip up all the cream cheese icing...I baked same cake name , different google recipe...I’m just gonna tell you by 4:00pm after starting at 11:00am the massive sugar high and low had set in...we still did not decide on which recipe was the best...that’s still the next get together...needs to be a few weeks though because there were lots of pounds added today😬😬missing @gluckdiane and @karen.mathers.92 😬..sometimes friends need to be mighty careful about ideas!😂😂😂😂😂😂 #deborahgibsondesign #cakebaking #creamcheesefrosting (at Greenville, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CG1EOIrjlJQ/?igshid=fpxwjbd6q9h0

Big success today for my client ...she and her husband had to live out of their hime AND mountain house all in the same month over a year ago..in their main house , out at the sidewalk a Tv provider, which shall remain nameless, although I should name them , cut their sewer line during upping the network capability fir the street..my clients came down from their bedroom , after getting up fir the day and their was raw sewage all ivervgheyr ground floor..due to the poor being cut, the shower and toilet backed up and over night overflowed..what a thing to wake up to...2 weeks later, a pipe burst at they’re mountain home..the water company called them to ask why there was such a large amount of water usage..of course.they jumped in the car and flew to the mountains ...sooo much damage everywhere!.. long story short..both their residence furnishings that were not ruined went into storage, much was sent off to be repaired, insurance forms, contractors, moving into an apartment...it’s been a long year for them but at least they are back in their house..boxes everywhere but we are getting things hung and unpacked..baby steps for sure but progress! #deborahgibsondesign #waterleak #waterdamage #insuranceclaims #frozenpipes #brokenpipes https://www.instagram.com/p/CGlAgEGjrhX/?igshid=632az0l92beb

Don’t really have a before but did a Fall mantle re-fresh today for a client...added pumpkins, feathers, Tardiva Hydrangeas and dead twigs from the Tardiva...the movement in the twigs is a perfect addition to the rigidity of the feathers....all these goodies, with the exception of the twigs were stuffed away in her “Fall” box..what I really love the most is “decorating with what a client has right on hand”...sometimes I feel like I do my best work with, often times, things that at first glance don’t seem like they go together. ..digging in a box of “packed aways” generally reveals great prizes!#deborahgibsondesign #usewhatchagot #Fall #mantlerefresh (at Greenville, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGjHfUJDvad/?igshid=20bwslo4kr3b
