the first parts of episode 1 where they show rozemyne getting accustomed to life with elvira and karstedt feel a bit... what's the word, stilted? it cuts through each scene rather briefly, with the only indication of time passing being the page turning animation. it doesn't really convey how much time actually passed between rozemyne living there to when she goes to be officially recognised as an adopted child of the archduke, imho. coming from the perspective of someone who did read the LN for this moment, that's how it felt to me when i watched the anime.

and then, there's the part where rozemyne occasionally reconciles with her family and loved ones, whether that be being pampered by lutz, or seeing her family and waving from a distance. with how the scenes come one after another, it feels like barely any time has passed before myne gets the chance to see her loved ones again.

another thing that bothered me so far is how they're dealing the scenes with wilfred. in the LN, they explained that they allowed wilfred to drag rozemyne away on purpose so he could see for himself how weak she is. and i guess traumatizing a kid is worth it for that reason, but i digress. after we watch rozemyne recover and wake up in bed, the scene isn't acknowledged anymore. which is weird???

now don't get me wrong, i do love it when rozemyne can meet them! believe me, i was crying alongside her (in the LN) when she first opened the box that contained a hairpin from her family. a lot!!!

but it almost feels unearned, when the family scenes are relatively quite close to each other when you go through the anime. imo, it feels like "huh myne goes through one thing, and then she gets to see her family again."

sure, maybe they plan to show it later through wilfred's POV and decided not to show it now, but it feels like there's something missing yk... when something this big happened, where someone was reckless enough to drag myne's unconscious bleeding body on the floor for a good few seconds, it feels very strange that the anime doesn't address that more?!

all in all, i suppose what im saying is there's things left to be desired so far. but that doesn't take away from my love of the anime and media as a whole! sure, it's a bit confusing because of these ommissions, but i still love and treasure myne's story.
