When people criticise Øystein and Pelle for being cringe and edgy in their interviews, they always fail to understand that their heroes like Fenriz weren't any different. And that Fenriz had the opportunity to grow up and get old, unlike those two who are frozen in time
“Euro was driven. He was always there with diehard ideas. In times of much distraction, he was always there. He was always encouraging people to listen to anything extreme of any genre. I think it was sad to see all the people coming into black metal after he died. I think many of them thought that only black metal was real and didn’t have much perspective and shunned other styles. It was very bad for black metal, actually, that a lot of copy bands without any backbone came out of those people.”

"Day four. January 31. The whole band, along with Vangelis and me, went to their studio and watched them rehearse and get ready for the concert that was going to take place on February 3. It was amazing for us. They played new songs that were awesome.
Day five. February 1. In the morning, Maniac, the former singer of Mayhem, arrived from the north for the concert that was to take place in two days.
Day six. February 2. Nella woke us up at 8:00 a.m. and treated us to beers. From 8:30 to 9:30, Nella had downed a case of beer, while we had barely managed to drink a bottle each. In the afternoon, Mayhem left and went to their studio to rehearse for the concert. That evening, they returned with pig heads that they were going to use in the concert."
