out of general curiosity, are there any realmers that actually read the rotmg tags on tumblr?
(ps, you should totally give me a yell. I am a demi-god realmer and can help you bros out)
Yes i do. What up? I'm in and out, and i've been out these past two weeks, but I'll be back in soon. (I go by Truearcs) I also run the realmgraves tumblr that always uses rotmg tag. Nice to meet you.
(Don't need no shit though, since i'm half decent myself =P )
So bored! I have the strongest urge to play this game!
DO IT.
I happen to be fortunate. My team of writers on Dragon Age currently consists of nine people— most of which are female. It’s reached the point that, when we consider new hires and transfers, I tend to joke “ummm, we could use some more testosterone in here…” and give a big goofy...
Definitely worth a reblog.

Humon comics. They also make a series called animal lives. Very very cute. =3
This comic accurately sums up my feelings towards those who complain about The Hawkeye Initiative.
look, I am a huge David Willis fan. He is funny, brilliant, and bang on the mark.
But this? This is the single best and most important comic he has ever done and I am going to keep reblogging it until people stop making the argument in the first panel.
this is probably my favorite comic of the year
That's fair. I've always thought guys were more sexually attracted to batman than girls were anyway. God I love Batman. (Not this version)

Lack of Passion is (not) Fatal
@leakypen
You responded fast =)
I don't have passions in my life, except for friendships with a few select people. And I have been told that it doesn't really count and/or it is bad to not have passions that are your own. And even further, some people believe that everyone DOES have a passion, though they just don't know it yet. I used to be one of those people who tried to look for passions in life and whatnot, but I've started coming to the conclusion that maybe there are people who just don't have passions in their life, and maybe I'm one of them, and that that should be perfectly Ok.
I mean, I still have preferences in life and things I do. I play video games, gone skydiving once (and plan to again one day), enjoy snowboarding and all that. But if I never get to do those things anymore, it's just as well.
But, the majority of the world doesn't seem to agree with that. In fact, there's been a saying that I've noticed going around: "Lack of Passion is Fatal". I mean, I'm still alive as far as I can tell, and it kind of annoys me that a saying like that exists. I understand that people are positive about passion. In fact, I think passion must be pretty awesome to have, and to a degree I envy people who have them. But I think the negativity towards a lack of passion is a little uncalled for, though I suppose that's not exactly the way people are thinking about it when they post the quote. Or maybe they are.
I just wanted to ask some people for their opinions on the matter, ranging from those who have a lot of passion, to those who have little or none.

Well. I kinda came across this one randomly on youtube. Really intense, and kinda cool. I like it.

Realm of the Mad God is Amazing
So I've been playing this game now for a bit more than nine months now, and while i have been playing less recently due to time constraints and real priorities rising, my love for this game has not dwindled. If I could, I would play every night until the sun rose, like I did while I was still in college.
So, why is this game so amazing?
It appeals to all levels of gamers, from casual to pro. Starting off in this game as someone who was unaware of anything, I had my initial goals that kept me preoccupied, but was challenging enough for my skill level. With promises of unlocking new classes, i was kept entertained long enough to discover the harder enemies, and harder dungeons. And of course with that, came better loot.
And this game gets more compelling as your skills and commitment increases, because of the level of depth included in the game, as well as the consistent and substantial updates that the developers place in more than reasonable intervals.
But what made this so much better than simple grinding as in any other mmorpg?
Fucking permadeath. It sucks so much when you are starting, just because you want to get to level 20 to unlock other classes. Yet each time you die, you have to start at level 1 again. It's almost a throwback to those really old game in arcades that didn't have savepoints, and required winning within a single run.
Yet, once you reach level 20, it is only the tip of the iceberg. You have 8 stats that you try to max, which admittedly takes a while. But because of the depth of the game, and the existence of permadeath, "grinding" still seems rather compelling.
And when you die after you start maxing stats. Man. That sucks. Sure you get some compensation (fame and a tiered gravestone) But you lost a character you put so much dedication into. Your heart, soul, blood and tears went into it, and now all you get is tombstone that disappears as soon as the realm is reset (or even sooner)
And that's what makes this game so beautiful. It hurts, but it makes your living, existing characters so much more meaningful. While I would not recommend heavily investing in this game for the feint of heart, I would at least give it a try ;)
Fucking throwback
not me, btw
