Sonnet: The Thief of Cupid’s Flame
You stole the arrows from bold Cupid’s hand, With blazing eyes and grace that none could feign. Before your gaze, I barely understand Why all my steps grow clumsy in your reign.
You took my heart as thieves take flight by night, So swift, so sure, like wind upon the eaves. I felt no strength to summon up a fight, Just watched you weave through moonlight’s silver leaves.
Beneath the crescent moon, I longed to see Your form in motion, dancing through the air. But all I saw was one who towers free, A gem so rare, beyond all known compare.
My thoughts are yours, though you may never know I wish you'd stay, and never let me go.
