Hi. I'm Kitty. I write fanfiction about sad gay people. Some of them are pretty good. I also art now, I guess.
Icon & banner from Batman/Nightwing: Bloodborne (2002). Blog title came from a sleep-muddled conversation with a friend.

She/They | Multifandom | Prompts open! | Find me on AO3 here!
I'm Kitty. I go by she/they. I'm a fanfiction author, amateur artist, and mother of a dastardly cat. All my written works are posted on my ao3. I also have a writing sideblog/archive at @kittyswritingcorner. I've been here for a while.
This blog is for me to share my writing, art, interests, and/or other hobbies. Feel free to drop an ask or slide in my messages if you fancy a little chat—I don't bite! :D
My current fandoms are: MCU/Marvel Comics (mainly Stephen Strange/IronStrange), DC's Batman (Batfam/SuperBat/BatLantern, frankly anything Bruce Wayne-centric, as well as the rest of DC by osmosis), MP100 (Reigen Arataka/SeriRei especially), and most Holmes media but mostly BBC Sherlock (mainly JohnLock). I may dabble in other fandoms from time to time but I'll do you a favour and not list them all.
This is my own space and I have the right to express myself and my opinions freely here, although I will rarely engage in anything with heavy discourse/debate and the sort. I don't tolerate hate or untoward behaviour.
Tags, prompt rules, etc under the cut!
Tags
Despite the messiness of my blog, I do, in fact, use some tags for my own original posts. Surprise, surprise.
I use #my writing or, more recently, #kittyswriting for all fics I've written,
#my art for art I've posted,
#ask for basically all the asks I've answered,
#personal when I'm sharing something about myself, IRL updates, or how I'm doing,
#ramblings for random thoughts or things I decided are worth sharing in my blog,
Occasionally #writing when I share (hopefully) relatable stuff about writing or when I'm sharing my experience in it, and
#kitty makes up scenarios for when I share thoughts and scenarios about fictional characters.
Prompts
Do send prompts in my ask box! A couple things to keep in mind before sending a prompt:
I am not a fast writer. I may not respond to your prompt immediately. It could take me weeks, months, and maybe even longer to get to you. I have prompts in my ask box that date to literal years ago and have yet to get to them for varying reasons, though I respond quicker to short-form prompts. If a prompt isn't doable for me there's a likely chance I'll send it back/refuse.
I would prefer if you'd leave some space in the prompt for creative liberties and to not put in too much detail. It takes away the fun for me. If you'd like it in a very specific way, you may want to consider writing it yourself! :)
Ships I write for include ironstrange and serirei but I also love ekurei, ekuserirei, wongrange, and strordo. Feel free to also send in genfic/no romantic relationships requests.
Soft Nos/themes I can do only lightly: alcoholism, child abuse, sexual harassment/abuse.
Underage sex is a definite no. I'm alright with some light non-con (though I don't imagine myself ever writing a full-on explicit non-con scene) and some dubious consent, though, but I don't tend to go very descriptive with those.
Physical de-aging is OK, but I won't do ageplay or age regression—whether it's sexual or not.
Yes, I am open to writing NSFW but do not send me anything about mpreg (squick).
I don't write/read x reader or reader insert.
I do not write "Not [X] Friendly" fics. I do not like character bashing.
I will not write any minor/adult or incest ships.
Rules may update from time to time. Please check them before sending requests.

Follow-up on prompt rules: my preferences
I'm not exactly that picky of a person, but I do have preferences when it comes to reading and/or writing. And I would greatly appreciate if you'd take them into consideration, as I want to enjoy doing requests as much as you do when reading it.
I tend to prefer Hurt!Stephen or Whumpee!Stephen in h/c or whump scenarios, but I am not opposed to writing him being a caretaker. In the Sherlock fandom I prefer Hurt!Sherlock and Hurt!Reigen in MP100 but, again, totally open to otherwise.
I love a lot of various tropes and themes but am practically obsessed with whump and hurt/comfort and angst. I like the nightmare trope, too. I write fluff as well, but it usually requires a certain mood, and I'm not particularly great at it. With that said fluffy requests may come later than angsty ones.
Other things
Be reminded that I am an amateur author and a human, so, despite me not being averse to constructive criticism, it'd be appreciated if you would kindly hold your opinions to yourself instead of sending hate asks/comments.
I post from a lot of fandoms. This is not an IronStrange- or SeriRei-exclusive blog. Filter tags if and when necessary.
Minors are allowed to follow as I do not post anything too explicit; at least without tagging them. They would be tagged #tw suggestive for mildly explicit content or #tw explicit for actual NSFW. I do however advise you to beware as I can be... a little bit... unhinged, sometimes. And this is tumblr, so.
Ask me if you want to translate my works or publish them in a different platform. You must have my written permission. Otherwise I do not allow my writing to be posted anywhere else even with credit. It is however fine to download them for safekeeping.
If you disagree with me (e.g. you characterise/see/view [Character A] as ... but I write them as ...), please keep in mind that all of this is fiction and everyone is allowed to have their own opinions.
Please don't hesitate if you want to chat/interact! ^-^
I thiiiiink that sums up pretty much everything. If you've read this far, thanks for letting me waste your time!

If you all will allow me a moment to analyze the competition as it exists, there's something interesting going on with the numbers.
As we all know, thanks to the support of the good people of Tumblr, Tylenol has experienced a meteoric rise to second place. Even though her competition is stiff, I believe in Tylenol's ability to go the distance.
But let's take a look at the competition:
Elmer seems to be a lovely boy. I have no qualms with Elmer, and think he would look fantastic on a beer can. But what about Elmer's campaigns? Who is the power behind the throne here, and how have they managed to find such breakout success on this competition?
A handful of wealthy donors are trying to buy this competition.
At the end of the day, all donations are good donations here. This is a charity event so every penny earned is going to help animals in need. But it's not lost on me that Elmer's current ranking is thanks entirely to a few individuals with the financial means to put their thumbs on the scale.
Tylenol's donors, comparatively, are small and numerous, mostly $1-10 donations from many passionate believers in what she stands for (autism and pain relief I think).
Overall, the donations tell a very different story than what the base ranking shows you. Elmer is held aloft by just 24 donors and bolstered by a few wealthy patrons, whereas Tylenol has won the hearts of literally hundreds of people. Even the current third place, Abby, owes her ranking to numerous small contributions rather than one or two large ones.
This is why it’s important that we don’t dehumanize bad people who do bad things. Because they ARE human and that isn’t an excuse or a defense. These people are doing horrible things to their fellow humans for the sake of an incredibly harmful system. That alone is terrible and worthy of being shunned
There is no drug on earth that can replicate the absolute euphoria of hitting a writing flow state at 2:00 AM. You aren’t even typing anymore. You are a vessel. You are a channel for the gods. The characters are speaking directly into your brain and you’re just the stenographer trying to keep up. You feel like you could fight a bear. You feel like you invented the alphabet
having feelings that contradict your morals is soooo fucking annnoooooyyyiiingggggg. can the emotions and logic department get on the same page im tired of having to like strangle myself into being a tolerable person

they used to say that the only people who ever stayed dead in comics were jason todd, bucky, and uncle ben so where is uncle ben’s leather-wearing gun-wielding antihero solo comic
silver age comics can either feel like the most exhausting laborious trudge through the mud or a bright-eyed bushy-tailed trek on a nice sunny day and yes this feeling will change from issue to issue and no you cannot skip through blindly you have to pay attention or else you'll miss a critical mind-blowing detail that will have you staring at the wall for a minute or two.

bruce's stubborn bleeding heart that he keeps putting on the line anyway but he'd rather they all hate him for something he didn't do than for him to tell the truth and have that rejected. my self fulfilling prophecy who knows in his heart that he deserves to be hated but at least batman can keep protecting that eight year old he still is if he doesn't give up that part of him
please read this even if you're not indian. especially if you're not indian.
you've seen the jokes. india is "dirty", indians are "everywhere", why don't they fix their own country. ok. let me tell you why, and what's happening right now while nobody's watching.
first, the history you skipped: britain ruled india for two centuries and drained it. economist utsa patnaik's research estimates around $45 trillion in today's money was taken. the india that got independence in 1947 was one of the poorest countries on earth. every "why is india like this" question starts there. you don't get to profit off a robbery and then mock the crime scene.
now, what's happening RIGHT NOW:
in may the question paper for NEET leaked. that's the national medical entrance exam. over 2.2 million students took it. cancelled. years of studying, families' savings poured into coaching, gone overnight because someone sold the paper. students died by suicide after. these were kids who wanted to be doctors.
and out of that came a protest movement. a gen z group called the cockroach janta party, started by a 30 year old named abhijeet dipke, got 22 million instagram followers within DAYS. they've been doing a sit-in at jantar mantar in delhi demanding education minister dharmendra pradhan resign.
and then there's sonam wangchuk. if you've watched 3 idiots, he's the real engineer the character was based on. built solar schools in ladakh. invented ice stupas so himalayan villages have water. spent his whole life on education. he's 59 and he's been on hunger strike for 17+ days now. reporters went to see him this week and he was too weak to talk. and the troll armies are calling him "anti national" and "foreign funded". a man starving himself for other people's children. that's the thing here, anyone who asks a question is suddenly a traitor.
it's not one incident, it's everywhere you look:
• infrastructure worth thousands of crores failing within months of the ribbon cutting. tunnels collapsing in regions where heavy rain is a guarantee, not a surprise.
• youth unemployment near 10% for ages 15 to 29, 13.6% in cities. in a country of 1.42 billion where more than half the population is young.
• only about the top 3% of indians earn above 10 lakh a year. meanwhile billionaire wealth keeps ballooning and the headlines celebrate it.
• manipur burned for over two years. an ethnic conflict, tens of thousands displaced, and the prime minister barely said the word manipur while it happened.
• journalists raided. critics' houses bulldozed. activists sitting in jail for years without trial under laws like UAPA. our press freedom ranking has cratered.
• even the petrol is a fight now, ethanol blending pushed through while drivers complain about their engines and get no straight answers.
and through all of it, the PM, who came to power on religious polarisation (americans, sound familiar?), travels abroad for photo ops and has not held one single open press conference in over a decade. not one.
what i'm asking:
if you're not indian: share this. our media mostly won't cover any of it because the big outlets are owned by the same billionaires the government serves. the only reason wangchuk's fast is getting any coverage is people refusing to look away.
if you ARE indian: speak up even if you're comfortable. especially if you're comfortable. join the protests. add to this, correct me, translate it. staying quiet is a choice when nothing in this post touches your life.
india is not "dirty". india was robbed, and it's being robbed again, from the inside this time. but it's also the country where a 59 year old will starve for strangers' kids and 22 million young people will rally behind a party literally named after cockroaches, because cockroaches survive everything.
Prompt #1731
After a months-long battle to keep the rifts between universes closed in the aftermath of Thanos destroying the stones and the hours in which they didn't exist, Stephen is so exhausted he starts falling asleep at the drop of a hat. During meals, during training, during meetings with the Avengers- anytime he's sitting still for more than a couple minutes, he's soon to fall asleep. Tony notices this, and with the aid of the Cloak starts moving Stephen to various beds and couches around the compound- anywhere that's more comfortable than where he fell asleep. Neither he nor Stephen are prepared when Stephen wakes up in Tony's arms mid-transit.
I’ve interpreted “with the aid of the Cloak” to mean “sometimes the Cloak moves him, sometimes Tony does” rather than both of them moving him at the same time.
-
Stephen wakes to the sensation of moving. This has, unfortunately, become common lately. For the past three months, he hasn’t had more than three days in a row without being called out to help close a dimensional rift. Kamar-Taj rotates the duty among sorcerers, but between Dormammu and using the Time Stone to find the path to victory against Thanos, Stephen is their strongest sorcerer in terms of sheer power and all too many rifts require his mystical muscle. In such a state of protracted exhaustion, his body takes every fragment of rest it can get. The Cloak has become adept at locating and delivering him to the nearest comfortable surface.
But this time he’s not swathed in the even, yielding fabric of the Cloak’s embrace. Nor can he detect its dry, ancient scent. Instead, warm, strong arms circle his back and support his knees. His head is tilted over, resting against someone’s chest. He can smell metal and grease. “Tony?”
“Shit.” Tony adjusts his grip. “You’ve never woken up before.”
Before? Stephen still feels a bit muzzy with sleep. And Tony is so warm. Two human arms shouldn’t feel more secure than the Cloak’s swaddling, but they do. “Don’t stop,” he murmurs. It makes no sense, except for all the ways it does.
“I’m not going to leave you wherever you pass out,” Tony says. “Apparently, I just can’t help myself.” He sounds wry, but also soft.
“Good,” Stephen murmurs.
They’ll probably need to talk at some point, but that’s not enough to stop Stephen from sliding back into oblivion.
“I never asked for a son,” Alfred says bitingly.
“I’m not your son,” he counters back. “And you’re not my father.”
It’s their familiar song and dance of the past few years of his teenagehood, the same argument and the same biting words and the same quiet anger.

Bruce firmly avoids Alfred’s eyes trying to meet his own in the rearview mirror, clenched jaw turned to the window beside him in defiance. There is a not-insignificantly-sized tear at the hem of what was once his usually pristine uniform, the one Alfred always ensured with almost obsessive care is kept creaseless and neat at all times, and he fiddles with it a little, ignoring the prickling pain of his blotchy, bloody knuckles.
His surely bruising face aches terribly—that last hit had knocked his head back, his breath out of him. Bruce can still feel the impact of it like a phantom sensation, the way it had rattled his teeth, displaced his jaw. He hasn’t looked in the mirror quite yet, but his bottom lip splitted at some point during the fight, he is sure, and if the way it feels as though it is hanging uselessly to the right is any indication, swollen and heavy and flooding his otherwise dry mouth in blood, it must look pretty bad.
Alfred will likely try to stitch that one up once they arrive at the Manor, will probably check him over for other notable injuries—which would be no more than a couple bruises, scrapes, and cuts, none quite as deep or require stitches, definitely not the kind his uniform would need—and he will be doing it in silence. But the thing about Alfred is that his silence is never quiet. If anything, his berating is much more preferable than his silence, because in his silence you can hear his disappointment, and Bruce is enough of a disappointment as he is. That he knows as much, at least. The Wayne boy, throwing fists at fellow classmates? Preposterous. Ludicrous. Utterly unseemly behaviour. Downright shameful.
But what Alfred doesn’t know is that those boys deserved it. He didn’t see the things they had said and done to Sydney, doesn’t know the kind of burning, righteous anger it ignited in him, the driving need to see justice to those deserving of it—and she did. She wouldn’t have stood up to them otherwise, their teachers or classmates wouldn’t have stood up for her otherwise—it was him or no one else. Alfred doesn’t know that there was no other choice. And the things they said to him—orphan boy, they sneered, like Bruce had any choice in the matter.
And more than that, Alfred doesn’t understand. There is a fire in his veins, a fight inside asking—begging to break out. When he swung his fist, when he was struck back, the fire turned into something else. His entire body sang with it, like his pain receptors were instead replaced with pleasure. It is an indescribable, perhaps sickening sense of satisfaction that needs constant fulfillment, and the sting of his broken knuckles are worth it.
Alfred drives the car to a stop by the side of a road leading up to the Manor before they even reach its gates—there are trees and shrubbery poking their green fingers on the window, sitting at the base of the hill the Manor perches on. Bruce keeps his eyes on the window, anywhere but Alfred’s eyes. The indistinct reflection of the face on its surface glares frowningly at him.
“I am tired, Master Bruce,” Alfred admits quietly after a brief lull. Despite himself, the admission makes something twinge in Bruce’s chest—he shows none of it. “Tired of the phone calls, the fighting, all of this needless, senseless violence.”
“It wasn’t senseless,” he mutters, “And it was needed.”
“Pray tell, Master Bruce, when is it that violence is ever necessary?”
He tips his chin up, wraps his arms together. “When serving justice.”
“That is not justice. What you sought was vengeance, Master Bruce, which is another order of thing entirely. And you sought it through violence.”
“Well, Mitch deserved it.”
“Violence does not solve problems,” Alfred snaps back, each word enunciated sharply. “When will you stop thinking with your fists and—”
“This again,” Bruce mutters with a roll of his eyes.
“You are the last remaining son of Thomas and Martha Wayne,” Alfred says, and he didn’t raise his voice but he might as well have. “Do you think they would have approved—”
“Who cares what they think!” Bruce throws his hands up exasperatedly. “Whether they approve, whether they don’t! They aren’t around anymore, Alfred! Haven’t been for years!” The realisation of what he’s just said hits him almost immediately, and then the shame of it, but Bruce clenches his jaw and carries on anyway. “They only left me with you,” he finishes bitterly, stifling the unwanted guilt.
Alfred sits in silence for a moment, perhaps letting the words sink in for them both, and he was not lying about Alfred’s quiet being anything but.
“I never asked for a son,” Alfred says bitingly.
“I’m not your son,” he counters back. “And you’re not my father.”
They are speaking quietly—quietly enough that Bruce can pick up the small creaking sound of Alfred’s thin, strong fingers tightening on the steering wheel—with only an undercurrent of something dangerous lurking beneath; the right trigger and the slow fuse will burn up and blow. It’s their familiar song and dance of the past few years of his teenagehood, the same argument and the same biting words and the same quiet anger.
“I would’ve taken any of their places, that night, if I could. I would’ve gladly exchanged my life for theirs. Perhaps then I wouldn’t have to put up with all of this nonsense. Perhaps then your actual parents would be able to put you back in line when you act out, like this.”
It’s an honestly justified reproof. But it still stings, as much as the split in his lip and his torn knuckles. Maybe even more. The swirling anger is still bubbling up inside, skittering across his skin. He runs his tongue over his busted lip, balls his fists tight and feels the shot of pain up his arms—it’s preferable, at least, to Alfred’s eyes, his words, his silence.
For a brief moment he entertains the idea; what could have been, if it had been Alfred that night instead of mother or father. If it had been Alfred’s body he held in his arms as his aching knees dug into the concrete, Alfred’s breath and heartbeat he desperately tried to find the faintest hint of, Alfred’s blood staining his clothes red. He imagines Alfred’s lifeless eyes, the slump of his lifeless body, and further imagines living the rest of his lifeless days in the Manor without him, what it would have been like to grow up without him, without his steady arms and steady presence, his reprimanding and his obsessive care for the details and his damned silence. A wave of intense feeling washes over him from his head to his toes, and he sits there for a moment trying to master it.
He imagines a bullet buried between Alfred’s eyes like it had in mother, blood pooling under them, and what it would be like to lose him forever.
“Master Bruce?” Alfred’s voice, laden with reluctant worry, does little to pull him out of the visions his brain conjures in sudden vividness. The feeling has turned into something else, and he tries to fight it to no avail.
Bruce doesn’t quite register what happens next. His vision blackens around the edges, at first, and somehow that doesn’t register to him until too late. The floor lurches to the side and he struggles to hold his ground. A rhythmic trembling has begun in his hands, arms, spreading all throughout his body. And his breathing—it is not quite right, it’s like there are bands wrapped around his chest in a vise-like grip, locking up his airway and blocking any air daring to enter. It only gets steadily worse from there.
There are sounds—the car door, Alfred’s voice, but they are moving far away from him, running away from him, and—no, they are being drowned out, muffled under the sudden ringing in his ears, and he cannot get it to stop, cannot get himself to breathe, no matter how many times he thumps a fist into his chest he cannot feel it, cannot feel himself, cannot hear anything but the ringing and his thunderous heartbeat and the squeeze of his lungs. He does not know what’s happening. What is happening to him? He must be dying, he must be—
“Master Bruce!” Alfred’s voice cuts through the fog. His vision swims with blood red as he tries desperately to find the source of Alfred’s voice, to make out the head hovering over top of his. “Master Bruce, you must breathe, follow me. Come on, my dear boy, you must breathe.” Alfred has Bruce’s hand pressed to his chest, and Bruce can feel the rise and fall of it as Alfred inhales and exhales exaggeratedly. “Follow me, Master Bruce, slowly. In—and out, and in—and out. That’s it.”
Bruce tries to follow, he really does, but just as he thinks he’s done it, the visions rise up again and suddenly he is back in that alley, struggling for breath, for sense, for feeling other than the suffocating squeeze.
“I—” he tries to speak, choking, throat spasming. “Alfred,” he manages. “Please.” He doesn’t know what he’s asking for. Doesn’t know why he’s begging.
“It’s alright, Master Bruce, try again, it’s alright,” Alfred says, keeping a steady stream of words.
At some point an inhale chokes him, sends him into a coughing fit that leaves him that much more breathless. He realises after that he’s folded himself over, hands clutching tightly—painfully—on Alfred’s fabric-clad biceps.
“Don’t—leave—me,” he chokes out, “Please—don’t—please—” A hoarse, broken sob tears out of him. Alfred is making hushing, soothing noises.
“Never, my dear boy, never, I would never leave you—breathe, darling, come on, you can do it, come on.”
He shakes his head, trying to say I can’t, I can’t out of uncooperative lips, and through tear-blurred eyes sees blood and spit and tears drip down from his chin onto their laps. He can’t even feel the pain, only the lack of air, the feeling of drowning. When is this going to stop? Will he die before then? His heart, his lungs—there is something wrong with them, he must be having some sort of heart attack, he is going to die, Alfred will need to call an ambulance, call a doctor, call his father who would know what to do, but no, he isn’t here, not anymore—can’t someone stop this, anyone, will anyone be able to stop this?
They must sit there for a long time as Bruce tries to wrest away the visions, regain his breath. It takes what feels like centuries until he feels himself returning to his body, bit by bit, finger by finger and limb by limb until he feels partly whole again, until he feels partly present again, until he feels his breaths again. Still jittery, but at least he can take a full breath in. Alfred is still holding him—or, well, Bruce is clutching at him and Alfred is holding him up. Suddenly all of the anger from just moments prior has completely fizzled out, and in its wake is a bone-deep exhaustion. All he feels is pain, though his head is strangely light, spinning idly.
Pain, and deep, excruciating shame. It isn’t even a kind of humiliation he can describe—it is more than humiliation; whatever the right word for it is. The kind of humiliation that scorches the flesh from his bones, and even the bones are soaked in shame.
“Alfred,” Bruce croaks, ashamed of his tears, his words, himself. “Alfred, I’m—”
“Shh,” Alfred hushes him, “None of that, Master Bruce. Come on, then. Let’s head home,” he says. Firm hands rub up and down his arms.
Bruce closes his eyes, savouring the sensation. “All right,” he says, feeling cold as Alfred then withdraws, spinning slowly back onto the surface of the earth, still trying to regain his bearings. He shakily wipes the blood still oozing from his bottom lip. The sharp taste of iron, the sharpness of the pain—they ground him all the way up the drive to the Manor. They spend it in silence, and for once he is grateful for that.
Just a zoom on this panel because that's literally why Brutalia is classic tragedy: they are up against fate, both from an aristocratic family with duties to uphold.
This is also a pretty panel, with the way they are looking at each other, Talia standing over Bruce and gently holding his hands (she took off her own gloves to hold them), and Bruce holding them back.

read this thread. this is by far the most concise explanation of a lot of different issues that i’ve seen in fandom spaces in a while. cosigning both the linked thread and the thread about aus/uk/can law that’s linked in-thread.
If someone has never taken a class that includes copyright law, they may not know this stuff, so I don’t necessarily blame random people for not knowing what copyright is, but like… maybe just maybe it’s something that should be taught????
Just another reminder, because this always drives me crazy, but even if monetizing your fic was 100% unambiguously legal and protected, AO3 would still not let you do it because AO3 was founded and is supported by people like me who want a fandom community that is completely divested from making money off of fic.
Yes, this. Lots of fanworks on AO3 are unambiguously legal. Fics based on Shakespeare plays and fairy tales and Greek mythology and The Great Gatsby and your original character from your D&D game are not violations of copyright, because no copyright applies to those things.
AO3 still doesn’t let you monetize those things on the site, because we don’t want the site to be commercial! Because that’s not what it’s for!
It’s not there for you (generic you) to make money off the efforts of the people who build and maintain the site for free! We aren’t getting paid for the work we do to give you a nice site to use, just like you aren’t getting paid for the work you do to create whatever art you share there. Because fandom is supposed to be a community where we share with each other, and therefore we all benefit.
The deal is, we give you a free, stable, safe platform to host your works. In exchange, you get a site that isn’t covered in ads and tip jars and links to gofundme and “read the next chapter at my patreon”. You get one goddamn place on the internet that isn’t trying to make money off you. And we will defend that space and keep it non-commercial.
If you want to make money off your fics, you can instead post them somewhere like royal Road. “Oh, but Royal Road’s culture is so much more negative and stressful and lacks the supportive norms of AO3!” Yeah, because people are trying to make money there. Half the userbase is treating it as a storefront and hustling is the natural social consequence of that. AO3’s culture can only exist because it’s not commercial.
