Jason gets injured and Bruce brings him back to the cave for care. When Jason wakes up, it turns out he has lost his memory. He asks Bruce where he is and what their relation is and Bruce explains he adopted Jason as a child. Jason asks some more questions, but the entire time he can't help but notice he has some sort of intense emotion toward Bruce, although he's not sure exactly what it is. The best he can describe it as is passionate.
Jason asks Bruce if there's more to their relationship, a bit wary. And Bruce is at a crossroads here. Is Jason's memory loss permanent? Because if it is, and Bruce plays his cards right here, he might be able to stop Jason from ever being RH again. But he needs to find a good explanation for the intensity of Jason's feelings.
And so Bruce explains to Jason that Jason has always harbored all sorts of intense feelings toward him. At first familial, but then sexual and romantic. Jason's always been a romantic, surely that would convince him why he feels so strongly toward Bruce. And as for Jason, well, he can't remember much but what Bruce says sounds right in a way. He does love Bruce, even without his memories to explain why. And that love is one of the only things he has to go off for the life he can't remember.
Jason knows this must be weird for Bruce but if Jason really did love him like that, if Bruce loved him back, then maybe Bruce will let him indulge in that love. He can't explain why, but he hates the idea of being alone. It wasn't exactly what Bruce had planned, but if Jason wants to indulge, then maybe Bruce can too.
