Like, yeah. Being told he'll have the opportunity to prove himself to Bruce, when Damian grew up in the environment he did..? What did Bruce think was going to happen? Damian escaped the locked room, used voice mimicry to enter the cave, then eliminated the target of Batman and Robin's current mission, all to show that he is capable of being Robin.

The next step would be to remove the competition currently in the role.

Prove yourself to Batman. It's not a leap in logic, it's not irrational. It's all very pointed and intentional. Bruce said he would be able to prove himself; Damian did in the way he knew best.

I don't think that everyone who does the "this two characters in mentor/mentee relationship are actually father/son" and the variation thereof is an anti but i definitely think that it is boring as hell. They might be even a decent people but i genuinely don't think with my interests there's anything i can talk to them about.

i can even understand that urge to do "everyone is happy" fix it or make the comforting experience into found family I get it. but also i hate it. and also frankly i don't think they'll want to be around me in the first place.

So i don't understand the "everyone is so mean to fluff writers" wave now. Are they? Or are fluff writers just sort of writing boring stuff and turning every character into mommy/daddy (unsexy) and people are not into it?
