INKHEART GIFT EXCHANGE

Hello, friends! Here’s the plan for our inaugural fandom gift exchange:

before November 22, you will: message me and say you want to be part of the gift exchange!

before November 22, I will: give you a list of questions re: preferences in what gift you want to GIVE and what you would like to RECEIVE.

before November 22, you will: respond to the short list of questions so I can try to match people whose gift-giving and receiving preferences are similar to your own. Please also follow this blog so you can see updates, and make sure you have anon asks on in case your gift-giver has questions

by November 26, I will: message you with your assignment!

for four weeks you will: go wild with your gift-making! have fun! I will check in a few times; however, if for some reason you won’t be able to participate please tell me ASAP!

on December 21, you will: post your gift, tagging me and the person who it’s for, and we’ll all ooh and ahh over each others’ talents. :)

there's no mention of any inkworld character, even royalty, having a last name iirc so i think that's a cultural thing they don't do.

slightly related, i've always headcanoned that he and the black prince both chose their own new names early, as orphans adopted into a group of entertainers, and have been going by them since (and very few people know their original names).

One of my strongest headcanons is that the one night Dustfinger spent in Elinor’s house at the beginning of Inkheart was one of the worst nights of his life. He cleared the books off of a little section of the floor next to the bed (the idiot hates sleeping in beds because he thinks they spoil him and he won’t be able to sleep on the ground again when he gets home) and just laid there all night feeling incredibly guilty about what he was doing and what he was about to do, betraying Meggie and Mo. All the books and the tight attic space made him feel trapped. He was too scared of Elinor back then to even think of touching any of her books, and books make him miss home and frustrate him because he can’t read them properly anyway. I think Elinor’s house symbolizes one of his lowest points.
