i think that out of all the batkids, jason and stephanie are my favorite duo and there’s just not enough with them. like hello, dead robins club. the whole situation they have with black mask. both of them being raised by their moms. and you just know that they raise everyone’s blood pressure.

imagine being dick grayson and you get fired from your job and then your girlfriend breaks up with you and then the place your parents died burns to the ground and then your apartment explodes and then ur twin dies and then you have a situationship with roy harper and then ur city explodes and then your dead brother comes back to life and starts killing people and to make everything worse his new helmet looks like tylenol

Fandom likes to act like Jason's too broken for therapy or something but I just know you put that guy in a confidential space why a guy who specialises in withholding judgement, accepting him wholly and listening with empathy, and I don't believe for one second he's gonna be "too tough for it" or anything. The man yearns for connection. The true obstacle to Jason getting therapy is that someone would inevitably bug the office or break into it to steal Jason's therapy notes

I have a lot of feelings about Stephanie and her relationship to the Wayne fortune, but I think what it ultimately boils down to is I don't think she would ever put herself in a position where Bruce could take her life away again. He's already done that once when he ripped away Robin and Spoiler, she wouldn't give him another chance. Even years in the future when she's comfortable and they're on good terms, I don't think she would be able to ever let him support her because if he has any control over her life then there's always the chance he'll back slide, and she will not be caught in that position a third (fourth?) time.

i like to think jason deliberately obfuscates the role sheila played in his death from the others, because he’d rather be painted as cocky and impulsive than have to acknowledge that she never wanted him, that she used him, that he was easy to manipulate because he was so desperate for a parent who wouldn’t leave. i think he revisits the memory of being held at gunpoint by his own mom and feels deep shame for ever having allowed himself to hope, for being unlovable, for seeking love in the first place. it was a betrayal so cruel it altered his neural pathways. i think there’s a part of him that wants to go back and scream at himself for ever having been stupid enough to believe her, that blames himself for having fallen victim to her lies, that hates himself for not having been “better” so as to avoid the situation entirely. the sheer depth of shame - i think it chokes him
