honestly i’m sick of white women talking about normalizing “ugliness” when they’re talking about features that majority of people of color have and only a few white people have. like you’re gonna complain about your nose which is a little big and crooked and u’d look at other people of color who are just minding their own business and tell them we need to normalize ugliness!!!! like stop we’re not ugly, your ancestors decided that we’re ugly and now we’re still trying to unlearn it i know u thought you were saying in it in a feminist way but it’s actually racist af. like this belief that the point isn’t about being beautiful it’s about learning to accept yourself is worth nothing because u choose to give women of color a label anyway. your sentiments come from racism, like what if i tell you today that i don’t want to think of myself as ugly lmao.

people think sexism is so insignificant that when emma stone merely acknowledged greta gerwig (“these four men and greta gerwig”), the only woman nominated that year for best director and the first woman nominated in almost a decade, when announcing the category, people called her racist because one of the men nominated was black and another was a white mexican. nevermind the fact that jordan peele was the second black male director nominated for two years in a row and the third in four years, and that the past three out of four best director winners had been mexican men (GDT would go on to win that year and cuarón again the next, making the past five out of seven best director winners mexican male directors). spike lee would also be nominated the following year. another director of color, bong joon-ho, would win after cuarón took home the 2019 oscar, in 2020. in fact, the only non-hispanic white director (all male) that had won since 2014 was damien chazelle in 2017. in that time, not a single woman had been nominated. greta gerwig was the first woman to be nominated in 8 years since katheryn bigelow became the first woman to win (and the first woman in 5 years to be nominated since sofia coppola in 2004) in 2009. in that time, i don’t think a single female directed film won in any of the major categories (picture, director, acting, screenplay, cinematography). and yes i am VIOLENTLY beating a dead horse on this but this is such a frivolous issue and even here there is not even a shred of empathy to be had for women and even more so, anger and resentment that women speak as women at all

I’ve seen this post before and it makes me angry every time, by the time these kids are adults they will think this is normal, that this is the norm. Finding comfortable clothes shouldn’t be as difficult as it is, and even more in the case of children.

Plus, at this age, the differences in size and body types between boys and girls isn’t even that evident. There’s no reason for different fits.

In one of my anatomy classes as an undergrad we were examining a female cadaver’s abdomen. The male doctor teaching us told us that we might find artificial rips in the peritoneum because “this one has been pretty raped” (by which he presumably meant damaged by previous students). Honestly I’ve never felt so fucking creeped out and disgusted.

I rea on a newspaper a few years ago than in France where I live, medical students are sometimes asked to give a vaginal exam on women under anesthesia, to practice, because “the women never agree to it when awake”… I don’t want to look it up for fear that it might be true or a common practice. There was quite a stir at that time though. No one talks about it anymore. Maybe because it might cause a national scandal? I’m exhausted.

Like I told my sister the other day, men shouldn’t be doctors. At least not for women.
