I can't even be mad at Mileven because they lost even worse than us. Sure, they got a goodbye kiss and are thus, technically, canonically supposed to have loved each other at some point, which - after season 4 and 5 - barely means anything.

Yet, at the end of a really tough day, Mike can call Will to talk about it. He can call Dustin or Lucas or Max. He can call anyone but Eleven, alive or not.
