In depth about Us
We are a bit of an electric and strange covert system. Basically we present best to the moment we're in. One moment it can be one person and the next it could be another. If you speak with us it'll likely feel like whiplash for a while, which makes it difficult to make and keep friends/jobs/relationships. Because of this, we often share hobbies, but it isnt always the case. Devoid for example couldnt care less about having a partner or doing hypnosis so long as it's all kept relatively safe and ethical.
I suppose I'll start of with one of our stranger things that others pick up themselves fairly frequently; We call others "beans" (which has landed us in a touchy spot a couple times) because human beings can be funnied into human beans, which we eventually just shortened to "beans". If we call someone a bean, that's why.
A few of us deeply enjoy learning and practicing hypnosis. I (Peony) loves imagery, progressive muscle relaxation and sensory exploration. Jade enjoys toying with others perception, sense of self (largely in the form of transformation hypnosis) and obedience training.
We tend towards being very VERY single mindedly obsessive over a few things at a time. Usually rotating out between 2-4 (4 being very overwhelming and unusual) which can include places to go, hobbies to enjoy, shows to watch, games to play, or people to spent time with (and sometimes even obsess over to the point of wanting to wear their blood and mark their body in all kinds of beautiful ways so that others know they're ours and to keep their filthy hands off our treasure <3)
We grew up pretty sheltered and frequently abused (reference our trauma list above for a general overview) so we dont have a great grasp on a lot of pop culture references, games, books and much much more. Now that we're out of a largely hostile and oppressing immediate environment we've been doing a lot for self exploration and getting some really serious medical help for a variety for things.
Known System Individuals:
Jade
Lotl
Peony
Sona (Nonverbal/Mute)
Niko (VERY playful and needy. Presents as nonhuman)
Peony
Reine
Devoid
Robert
Vice
Warp
[Unnamed] (if we start profusely spiralling, likely this one)
[Someone Else] (extremely hurt, scared and withdrawn)

i strongly believe aftercare is more intimate than sex itself - especially when they give it genuinely, when they want to do it, not just because they should do it.
the fact both people have just seen each other in - probably - the most vulnerable positions both mentally and physically, and yet still show nothing but gentle affection towards each other afterwards makes it even more important than sex.
Having had partners who just do not understand aftercare at all I fully agree. Without aftercare you just get this deep ingrained feeling of… Almost regret? Maybe more a kind of betrayal? It’s extremely unsettling especially after baring your full self to a person you thought would comfort you after being so vulnerable with them.
Aftercare is so unbelievably important, even if you don’t know what you’re doing. It’s really easy to fall into trying to be good at sex but not knowing what to do afterwards. Get a towel, clean your partner off, help them get comfortable. Cuddle them as much as you can without suffocating them. Whisper sweet nothings. Make them feel seen and loved, while they try to do the same for you.
I love fruit. I love love love love fruit. I know it's not really cooking, but when it's hot I like to cut up a bunch of different fruits, mix with greek yogurt and sweetener in a tub and freeze for about half an hour.
I also use chicken mince quite a lot and love using a cookie cutter to make stars.
There's also a really nice recipe I came up with for mango pie with four ingredients.
I would upload more but those took about three minutes to upload each so maybe when I have better signal.
Fiction!! I read fiction, write fiction, watch fiction, draw fiction, I love fiction.
mmm i know exactly what you mean!! Fruit itself is a lovely treat. Raspberries, nectarines and mandarin oranges are some of Our favorites. blueberries in greek yogurt with a small dab of honey is a lovely start to the day :D
awww homemade chicken nuggies sound lovely <3
OH WOW! Never seen a mango pie ^_^ that would be lovely to try
Science fiction or Fantasy fiction? or both? neither?
know what, We'd like to hear about one of your favorite hobbies. feel free not to hold back and yap as much as you'd like sweetie
Aw you're so sweet, thank you!! Same for you, anytime.
Hmm... I really like cooking (or just food prep tbh) and coming up with recipes. I like skincare and dyeing my hair and walking.
I also adore drawing on myself. I always take pens with me, two different colours at the very least. Earlier I went over all of my scars on my arms and legs, it was pretty therapeutic. I used to do it as a teenager when I felt insecure and now I just like it because it looks cool. One of my girls said it makes me look like a tiger.
I draw little stars and planets on my hand a lot, and the name of whoever I'm crushing on at the time on my wrist. Sometimes I do stars on my legs if I'm in shorts, or jeans if I'm in jeans. I don't own a single pair of jeans that doesn't have doodles all over.
though We absolutely abhor baking as it feels like there is much less room for experimenting.
ooh! what kind of colors and patterns have you done? what has been your favorite?
Ooh that's adorable! Happy that it's able to be reclaimed <3 proud of you girly. that's a lovely and beautiful coping skill.
ooh the writing their name on your wrist is actually so fucking cuuuute!! might steal that actually ^^
you sound so creative and playful :D
We kinda are only just getting a real feel for our own interests in a safe environment, but we especially LOVE nuero science, psychology, probability & statistics and Magic the Gathering.
We also play warframe with friends somewhat often and that's always a lot of fun too ^_^
For psychology specifically it started from people watching and being hyper observant as a trauma response, but it's become a way to empathize with others and excel at fun things like hypnosis which has become a favorite infrequent past time
I've done just about every colour except yellow but red or orange always turns yellow if I leave it a while. No fun patterns though, sadly. I've tried but always end up messing it up. I actually have red dye in my hair right now, I'm about to wash it out.
Thank you!! You're so sweet.
Feel free to steal it! I have four names on me right now, I have to redo them.
That's so cool!! I'm happy you can figure out what you like, and they sound so cool!! You're so interesting!!
I've always been interested in psychology, I'm so glad you can learn about it.
Okay so... There are a LOT of things we love to make and it depends on what's available and what form of cooking is available. Preferably it'd be over camp fire coals tossing some cheesy potatoes with some green onions wrapped in tin foil. Plus some chicken breasts cut in unfolded halves rolled around serrano pepper slices and muenster and mild swiss and the outside glazed in an olive oil mix of paprika, oregano, thyme and salt cooked over the hot coals either on a tripod or elevated by kabob sticks through the sides. While those cook a tossed salad with picked beats, hard boiled eggs, shaved white onion rings, and feta cheese.
We learned to cook over a campfire before the stove '^^ this is one of Our absolute favorites because it's easy and absolutely delicious.
Oooh! We've been wanting to try dying for a while but We have very fickle hair so it's not very practical. Sometimes a little jealous but otherwise have a lot of fun seeing others enjoy it :D
Thank you! We honestly have a habit of getting overwhelmed by a bunch of stuff so try to stick to a few consistent special interests.
Our day yesterday was hella busy, but it was very nice. Went out with our roomie and one of her friends from school, did some running around catching up on some personal things since we'd been sick and barely ate or moved the two days prior. mostly just slept a bunch from exhaustion ÓwÒ
Oh actually We have a really nice park across the way from Us built around a lake. We've posted a few photos of having been there just after it hailed and the cool air mixed with the previous heat around and created a bunch of mist through the trails and rolling off the surface of the lake!
Where do you like to go to when you are outta the house?
Oh my god, that sounds amazing, you're making me hungry. It's awesome you know how to cook like that, you seem so much cooler with every interaction we have.
That sounds nice! I hope you feel better now though, take care of yourself!
That sounds awesomeeee I'm gonna stalk your blog for those photos once I post this.
I really like walking, there's a super cool 2 and a half hour walk from where I live to my dads house so sometimes I'll walk there when he's away and spend the night in the empty house and do some washing, he'll never know (he finds out every time but oh well. He doesn't mind).
I also love getting the bus to my local city and walking around for a couple hours. It's a shame the busses don't run on Sunday, my only day off. I still do it when I can though. Walked 17k today, it was really nice.
Cooking is one of Our love languages. We struggle to eat for Ourself, but we love taking care of others and Ourself by proxy. We're also stupidly clingy.
We will also always swear by cooking just about anything in a dutch oven. Think like a bunch of asparagus, shallots and carrots slow roasted in a water an herb broth with a pork loin cooking over top them, the run off from the meat flavoring the broth as the meat becomes so tender that it just pulls apart.
idk if you were able to find the images, so here they are ^_^
We actually just went to a really nice park yesterday with a roughly 3 hr trail, but didnt know it was there and thus didnt have the preparation for it. NEXT TIME THOUGH >:3 that trail is Ours to conquer Muahahahahaha
that's kind of you I think :D
Ooh the big walkies Cx Good girl for getting out and taking care of yourself. Sucks to hear that the busses are down on sundays though :/ perhaps a bike is in order?
Oh we each listen to ALL kinds of music. Jpop, industrial, lofi, game soundtracks, p much anything that isnt country, rap or screamo we'll usually listen to happily enough.
Show's that We enjoy are usually of the animated variety. Live action usually doesnt satisfy Us outside of horror (but we HATE shock factor horror). Our favorite move is a little hidden gem called Maqui, When the Promised Flower Blooms
Certainly doesnt hell We're touch starved to all hell. we moved about a year and a half ago so we dont really know or have anybody locally that we can spend much time with '^^ so it's kinda a self inflicted problem... but we'd never take it back. We're safer and better taken care of for it.
You think so?? Thank you so much dearie, We appreciate that. Have you done much photography yourself? we used to take several years of practical art classes throughout our entire school career (no college), but nothing professional so we're very happy to hear they came out well :D
It's been a while since we've done a day hike that long, but we REALLY love deep nature camping like Manitou Island, Appalachian Trails, and various parts of Canada. We'd LOVE to explore more and varied places.
Going kayaking and swimming are especially fun as We grew up on an old small cottage, during the summers, owned by Our grandparents and learned to swim, nearly unsupervised, by the age of 4. The smell of the smoke from a campfire, the wick and flicker of the flames dancing and licking up the wood, the gentle embers floating on the updraft vanishing into the night sky (=^v^=) it's so nostalgic and soothing. We even listen to firecrackling ASMR when we struggle to fall asleep. It's some of our few really good memories
Our absolute favorite video games though would be Xenoblade Chronicles and Warframe. We could go ON AND ON AND ON about the lore, theories, implications and moral quandaries of both series. Xenoblade Chronicles is especially loved because all 3 main games and each of their DLC story lines ALL make Us cry very consistently
Aw that sucks, I hope you find the right people! Im glad youre safer though.
I like photography. Tumblr hates me today, I uploaded four and they all disappeared. I'll see if it works when I answer your ask.
That's awesome! I went camping a lot as a kid and I miss it. I've only ever done it in the UK though in lumpy soggy fields, I hope it's comfier over there.
That's beautiful, it sounds so so nice. I'm so glad you can still take comfort in that, it sounds like such a soft and sweet memory.
I feel very out of place not knowing what those are but I hope you have lots of fun playing them :3
No worries, hope you slept well hun ^_^ We just woke up ourself. Just writing this while making a simple breakfast.
We are slowly making a few friends. One is even a practicing Celtic witch! It's been fun getting to know her :D We went to the local zoo with them the other day and had a cozy time walking and talking. Here are a few photos from it (we got there a little late in the day so most the bigger animals were in their sealed parts of their enclosures, but at least it lets Us go back for a different experience ^_^ )
Aww D: So sorry to hear that Tumblr is being a meanie butt to you today sweetie. Hope they are able to resolve it.
We've done a little day packing in marshes and some swampier area's a couple times, but it's not great for camping multiple days imo. It's very lovely though. Marshes especially have a unique acidic smell that can be fairly pungent >~<
Our memories on that lake are definitely some of the better ones. It was a fairly large lake with a bunch of houses and cottages all over. On various holidays there would be boat parades that turned into water balloon and water gun fights. We would take the kayaks, paddle boats and canoes out after and clean up all the balloons we could together too. There was also a sand bar in the middle that people would just go to and kinda have a little community chatting with whoever joined them. It was a nice place and we made a lot of friends there in our youth. One of the immediate neighbors on one side of Our grandparents cottage had a cozy little spot out front before the water line. He would take Us out on little jet ski trips here and there, let Us stay in his cottage some times with his grandkids and played games with Us while just talking with Us. Next to him was a very sweet widowed lady who's family came to visit regularly and Our families shared a fire pit in the back so we would meet and talk a lot. Even had a little crush on one of her grandkids we made friends with for a while. On the other side of the cottage was a family that, as far as We could tell, lived there. They had 4, girls and they were the sweetest most energetic goobers we'd met, though they were a good ~6 years older than Us so we didnt really relate to most of what they would talk about, but we enjoyed each other's company. The cottage is also where one of Our cousin's introduced Us to Pokemon Diamond which turned into it's own whole love and nostalgia for early pokemon games.
They are just games We enjoy. Xenoblade in particular is beautiful!! The first story takes place on two absolutely MASSIVE dead titans (the Bionis and Mechonis) each with their own thriving creatures, people and biomes. It is a story about owning one's own future and not letting fate determine what your limits are. It's an absolutely amazing game with amazing characters and thoughtful game design. It's by no means perfect, but it IS beautiful.
Xenoblade 2 is "unrelated" to the first game. It's core themes are about acceptance and that it's okay to slowly learn being vulnerable again. That even when times get difficult, that you can lean on those around you for support, regardless of the trauma and fear.
Xenoblade 3 is about a world that the lives of those in it are eerily short and tied to a literal physical timer that can only be refilled by killing others and consuming their "time". It's core themes are about the breaking of a cycle and forging a future that you can be proud and happy for and knowing that love isnt just ambient, but a promise <3
I could go on in much more depth but then it'd become a whole essay. We've played each at least twice, the first one like 3-4 now Cx
thank you for reading all this rambling ^^ what are some of your favorite music, shows and activities?
Thats really cool, I'm so glad you're making friends! The zoo photos are awesome, it looks like a nice day for it too.
These are some of my favorites. Nothing special but I like them.
Ive read that paragraph about the lake over so many times, the way you talk about it is so sweet. It sounds really nice.
Those games sound so cool! I might check them out when I have a day free.
Id love to read an essay about them. I love your writing style, I think I'd find the most boring things interesting if you talked about them.
My favorites? Uhhh. My music taste changes super quickly and I'm currently trying to find any songs I can that I haven't overplayed so much it makes me want to rip my ears out. Some of my recent favorites are Astronomy, Family Line, Memories and Checkmate by Conan Gray, The Cure by Olivia Rodrigo, Hits Different and Ruin The Friendship by Taylor Swift, Groan by Dazey and the Scouts, pretty much any Pierce the Veil song, Runaway Runaway by Mars Argo, and Put Me In A Movie by bulcadoshow.
I'm watching Skins at the moment. I also really love Supernatural and Don't Hug Me I'm Scared.
It was a nice day for some, yeah. Personally though, We overheat quite easily so, We struggled a little bit '^^ but we got a tarot reading outta it, which was quite fun! *as far as i can tell the deck is known for being "sassy"
But it would also be bad manners to rudely say that there wasnt a semi significant surprise about it and, while We arent the least bit spiritual, We try to respect and observe and understand the customs of Our friends at least. Would also be bad manners to spoil what the results were too so We will keep that close ^_^
A couple cozy vibe looking areas, especially the fire \o/ that river looks lovely <3 they dont need to be perfect
It was like the only place we consistently felt safe growing up. it did eventually get sold, but that's it's own can of worms xD so ig; Yes AND we crave going back to a place that reflects it ourself. a small cottage on a river, away from where most traffic comes through, so distant you cant hear other people's vehicles most days but a hour or so trip to a nearby town. just somewhere quiet and feels truly safe. We really struggle with being in the cities.
Oh, Xenoblade is a 3-D open world Japanese Role Playing Game (JRPG) series exclusive to Nintendo consoles, if you dont have a switch you may need to watch a playthrough instead (I'd recommend chuggaconroy if you can handle his nerdiness), which basically mean that it is at least a 60-80 hr commitment if you arent looking to 100% the game because certain quests expire after specific story events.
We recently learned of a horror movie called "Other Mother" which looks lovely. Might try to watch that tomorrow before playing Dungeons & Dragons, We got main questing to do for once!! (we may have spent multiple of the last few years umm... side questing in the far west while the east got overrun ... OOPSIE :3c
Now the North and South are also rushing in to fill the power vacuum and a Lich decided "you know what, this would make a fucking AMAZING unhidden Lair... " DREADHORDE FETCH ME THAT CITY WILL YOU!" yeaah... Dude is a massive threat. Though We have been using cool abilities with the misc magic items from the party pile like a ring of telekinesis as a paladin is surprisingly effective as a " The Bulwark" to help defend allies.
