JUST 1 DAY LEFT!!!

This was the series I listened to while moving, and its perfect for that. I would say that 2/5 books were able to solved by the reader pretty early on. But I am mostly in it to listen to this neurodivergent man and his I-stab-meat-to-see-what-the-stab-wound-looks-like sweetheart interact. Juliet is born out of time because she would make an excellent crime scene investigator and its a shame everyone thinks her hobby is morbid.

On the other hand, I think the social ettiquette of this period actually benefits Jonathan Darcy because it helps him mask better. There are clear rules to most of his interactions and he's able to get through his life with very few social blunders.

Jonathan discovering that he's in love is so adorable. He's always surprised, then panicked about how this changes things, then panicked some more about if it doesn't change anything. Man after my own heart.

Because I am an Austen fan, and a murder mystery fan, these were good books for a light read. The main characters are head over heels for each other and I think my favorite line is "Hang the world." because, sir, you cannot go around saying that shit.

4/5 stars for the series. That cliffhange at the end of the Netherfield one is a 5/5 tho.

like mr darcy essentially met the male version of his wife (at the place where he first proposed to his wife btw) and he immediately decided he did NOT like him and did NOT want his daughter to marry his son. and mr tilney knowing that mr darcy does not like him and making it worse on purpose for the laughs (and because he also did not want juliet to marry jonathan because he did not want her to join a family where she would not be unconditionally loved and how much of that do you think came from seeing his own father scorning his wife when she was but a young girl the same age their daughter now is)

he could have walked away from everything he professionally (and in his personal life) achieved. it sure as hell would have been easier in a way. but he stuck with working on getting better. and he will have to continue doing so.

I'm pretty sure there was something somewhere but I don't recall where or who or what they said. All I know it that someone once said something about how fun would be switch Percy's and Ron's role because Percy would be some little maniac trying not to break the rules with his friends but also achieving his goals.

- well if you would rather harry let the basilisk roam around the school and for more students to get stunned, for instance, that’s totally cool too. also, isn’t the whole point of the whole storyline supposed to be that courage and heroism deserves to be rewarded? i’d be pretty pissed if i made the effort to rescue and save a bunch of people and got nothing in gratitude for it.

and let’s not pretend that if any of the slytherins had harry’s level of quidditch skills, that snape wouldn’t immediately promote them to the team regardless of the regulations surrounding age. snape signed permission for the slytherins to have the pitch even though the gryffindor has already reserved it so rules clearly aren’t important to him.
