"Why do you talk so much about being intersex?"
Over 90% of parents of visibly intersex children opt for cosmetic surgery on their infants.
The ones that don't experience medical violence then, likely experience it as a teenager.
I didn't.
I am very rare in that I did not experience medical violence.
Why? Because I learned what intersexuality was as a young age, and I actively fought against what doctors wanted to do to me. All the way down to legal research on what medical care minors can be forced into. I remember walking into that doctor's appointment with the state law written down that proved that if I did not consent they could not do surgery.
That is why intersex activism is important. It saved me and it will save more.

Made sure to go to sleep early last night yet Iβm just as tired as usual if not more so
Time to vague post on Tumblr cause I am overwhelming my husband with my constipation complaints
I absolutely support victims of parental abuse speaking out, and we absolutely deserve need to talk a lot about parental abuse. But I would like to remind people that sibling abuse often ties into parental abuse. Sibling abuse barely ever gets spoken about as it is already, and it can absolutely happen on its own without the parents knowing. But most of the time, the parents know, and they let it happen. Whether it be because they themselves are just as abusive and think the siblings' actions are correct, because they're too weak to properly reprimand/get help for the sibling, the parents favour one child over the others, or they too are genuinely scared of their own kid.
Obviously, no parent wants their child to be a bad person who causes harm, and being faced with the reality one of your kids has abused the other is absolutely a harrowing ams difficult experience. But it's your duty as the parent to stop that behaviour. Weather that be by separating the siblings, getting mental health services involved, gods forbid but law enforcement involved, having one sibling stay at another family member/friends house, etc. Whatever the methord that works for you, it is your DUTY as a parent to step in when one of your kids is abusing the other. If you don't, you are complacent and letting the abuse continue.
Sibling abuse is barely talked about, but it's devastatingly real, and more often than not, the parents are involved directly or know of it and don't do anything about it.
This has been a PSA from a victim who was abused by their mother AND sister.
This is very true.
Sibling abuse is serious and it is a parentβs responsibility to prevent and address it.
I think the worst part about being tormented and abused by a sibling is begging your parents to do something about it and them doing nothing
when you and your sibling are both mentally ill but their symptoms are more severe so you still end up being the glass child π₯°

me as a child:"Low-maintenance, emotionally stable, gets good grades, reads quietly in the corner like a Victorian princess. A parentβs dream."
my parents: "Wow, we really lucked out. This one raises *itself*."
me now:
β has 8 mental breakdowns a week
β depression so bad I need a spreadsheet to answer emails
β once got so overwhelmed I took a nap *on the floor*
β lives on vibes, being feral, and blind panic
β forgets to eat until dizzy
β has anxiety so loud even my plants are nervous
β quit every job she had
β mental health held together by memes and stuffed animals
my parents: "Should we be worried??"
me: *eating shredded cheese from the bag at 2am in my panda pyjama* "A little late for that, Carol."
