People are very VERY concerned with Beyonce as a person and…I don’t understand why? So many people say she’s too guarded, that they don’t know what her personality is like, that they can’t connect to her personally because they don’t know who she is.

Can you name one thing about Sade? What does Janet like to do in her spare time? What’s Oprah’s favorite food?

Oh that’s probably bread. Bad example.

But why does anybody need to feel like they can kiki with Beyonce? She’s here to entertain you. That’s what she did. And she’s a human who has struggles and decides to share some of those in her art – that entertains you – and elaborate here and there in the media, to give the art context. That’s it. Beyonce doesn’t want to be your best friend. You shouldn’t feel like you could be hers either.

If you can’t enjoy a bop because whoever made it isn’t an open book, then throw away 75% of the music you bought prior to the social media age because you didn’t know boo about those folks and still got your groove on.
