In his dream, the two of them just talk on the rooftop of Ariake Base—sitting side by side on the bench, while Isao holding a cat teaser, playing with a stray cat. Narumi reports things, while Isao listening intently.
When he's done, he hesitated before saying the actual thing that has been gnawing at his heart the most.
"Did I do it right? Isao-san?"
"...I leave unit 1 and this nation to you."
That familiar line... Narumi turns his head to face Isao-san properly. Suddenly Isao is nowhere and Narumi runs and runs and runs around searching for him everywhere to no avail—
Narumi get jolted awake instead. He blinks at his room ceiling, before ruffling his hair in frustration.
