but this is straight up just the whole plot

Like, if we know the ending takes place in the bookshop, right....

and they didn’t go to the cottage and didn’t take that snow globe with the bookshop as a keepsake...

THEN WHAT THE FUCKING HELL IS ITS ROLE IN THE END.

That snow globe is also present on the right side of the poster, if you look closely (just under the street sign) and several other things on that poster have now been seen in different promos or the trailer.

In the Coraline movie, the "other mother" uses the detroit zoo snow globe as a container of sorts, to trap Coraline's parents inside.

(not necessarily relevant, as this does not happen in the book, so a certain author that I don't really want to think about too much right now, or ever for that matter, may not have been that influential to the movie's plot, but still an interesting parallel).

In the book, her parents are similarly trapped inside a pocket dimension/ void behind the door.

Now, that new intro is looking rather "void-like", if I do say so myself, which has just added more fuel to my theory fire.

We know these MFs are more than capable of doing something like this, heck they can do an off the scale miracle worthy of the strongest archangel by not even trying, as long as they work together.

I've yet to see any analysis on this running joke/motif so *cracks knuckles* guess I'll do it myself. Yes, I know the joke about Heaven being obsessed with Sound of Music is simply poking fun at how treacly sentimental and annoying it can be, I GET that, but has anyone considered how funny and ironic is it that the Almighty is apparently obsessed with it?

The actual PLOT of the Sound of Music is deeply ironic (parallel) to Crowley and Aziraphale's love story. Maria is a nun in training, deeply committed at heart to God, earnest in her intentions but also the convent fuck-up. Everyone complains about her being a disaster, absentminded, weird [neurodivergent] despite her good intentions.

She's sent on an assignment that's supposed to be a "punishment" in the outside world, but ends up falling deeply in love without someone that's seemingly grumpy and emotionally closed off BUT is actually a sweetheart just beneath the surface.

She FLEES when she realizes she's in love, because she feels guilty! Like she has betrayed her true mission. But she comes back when her mentor assures her (and I'm paraphrasing here but) that the love between two people is holy too! Just because she loves this guy doesn't mean she loves God less!!

And so she faces her fear, returns to this guy and discerns for herself that...just because the path God laid out for her isn't how she pictured it initially....doesn't mean her love for this guy isn't part of the Plan, actually.
