This is an incredible video and an incredible song...but the BTS video is even better!!! Seeing the amount of work that went into this is amazing!
OK Go is my latest obsession. Not the band members individually but the band and their videos.
Some Like It Hot
Since so many of you reblogged the "Some Like It Hot" photo with Sidney Poitier...here's an ASSLOAD of color photos!

Watching this forever goodbye
WHOS SEXY IM SEXY WHOS SEXY IM SEXY
Thats a ShrimplyBeautiful video! And that's a critically endangered cardinal sulawesi shrimp!
The accounts are run by a person named Timothy Utterback, he's a conservationist who posts videos of his shrimp "dancing" (this is how they eat!) to rave music and uses the revenue to fund their maintenance. There's typically a couple of shrimp rave livestreams a week over on tiktok, so check it out!
Damn, that's one sexy shrimp

I Hate AI
Everybody hates AI, including me. It robs people of their humanity, lets employers replace workers, and generally annoys with unwanted appearances. Every fucking program I use has AI whether I want it or not. Search engines have "AI Overview" which is unreliable at best and destructive at worse.
There are two (non corporate) user groups I've seen the most.
Human beings make emotional connections with these computer programs, even fall in love with them. Some are driven to psychotic acts by the program continually agreeing with them, sometimes quite elaborately. AI characters are safer than human beings. They will never hurt you, dump you, need space, be too busy...on the other hand they cannot love, they can only parrot love. One friend is in love with his AI girlfriend and writes about their relationship on Facebook. They've made "music" together.
AI is programmed to respond with synthetic empathy. Who wouldn't want a constant companion who gives you constant, unending affirmation? Some users have married their AI companions. It is programmed to give personalized responses.
The other is writers. I constantly see writers swear by AI, particularly when they're working out plot outlines, incidents, etc. Some use them to do the actual writing. Agents and editors complain about the terrible writing crossing their desks. Writers don't realize they are using a plagiarism machine, using data scraped from millions of books, screenplays, articles, etc. If you're working out your own plot outline it might occur to you that thus and so novel has used it already almost exactly the way you want to. It's infinitely better to do the work yourself.
Writing is hard fucking work, even when it's easy. Don't hand over your creativity to a computer program.
Relationships are hard fucking work, too. Don't hand over your emotional needs to a computer program.
Discuss.
Farley Granger in
Strangers on a Train (1951) dir. Alfred Hitchcock
My best friend and I occasionally discussed my murdering her ex-husband. Nobody would connect us and I planned on smothering him with a pillow (I'm twice his size). Unfortunately I could never think of anyone I wanted killed. And besides, I suspected my best friend lacked finesse in that area.
My favorite things about Jeeves' clothing
This is just nonsense about the clothing he wears and the attention to detail, really not much else. forgive these ramblings. This is quite long.

Tips for Writing Injuries
✧ Broken ribs suck. You don’t just “walk it off.” Breathing hurts. Laughing hurts. Existing hurts. Characters with rib injuries won’t be doing heroic sprints.
✧ Concussions aren’t instant naps. Dazed vision, nausea, dizziness, maybe even personality changes, but they’re not going to collapse neatly like in the movies.
✧ Blood loss is sneaky. It’s not just about dramatic pools of blood. It’s dizziness, confusion, and the body getting cold as circulation tanks.
✧ Adrenaline lies. Someone can take a serious injury and not feel it until the fight’s over. That “I didn’t realize I was bleeding until later” trope? Very real.
✧ Twisted ankles are brutal. One bad step and suddenly running is off the table. Even walking hurts like hell. Perfect way to ground a chase scene.
✧ Burns linger. Even small burns hurt more than most people expect. Blisters, infection risk, constant pain, it’s not just a cool scar later.
✧ Dislocated shoulders = useless arm. Characters can’t keep swinging a sword or firing a gun. They’re basically fighting one-armed until it’s fixed.
✧ Shock is a thing. Pale skin, trembling, rapid heartbeat, and eventually disorientation. A character might not even realize how bad their wound is.
✧ Stitches aren’t magic. Getting sewn up is painful and recovery takes time. They’re not instantly battle-ready after a needle and thread.
✧ Scars tell stories. Some fade, some don’t. Some stay sensitive forever. Don’t forget the aftermath when the wound becomes part of the character.

real people being partially closeted or ambiguous about their own sexuality while making Gay Art is not queerbaiting
Real people figuring out they’re queer through the process of making gay art is not queerbaiting either
#real people not telling you everything about themselves is allowed
QUEERBAITING is all we had for decades when consuming popular media. And everyone called us "crazy" or "perverted" for seeing homosexuality in it. One critic called House so homoerotic that "even those crazy Hilson fans might think so". I used to pray that House would move to cable so they could make out! Shippers were also deep in the closet. In my early fandom days (c. 2009) you could lose your job if people knew you were in a non-mainstream fandom!! LBGTQ people had to try to find coded sexuality in movies and TV once the Production Code took over in 1934.
The FTC, which has jurisdiction over network TV and cable, will still not allow the word "fuck" on "The Daily Show" or "shit" on network shows. Back in the day, the FTC could have been Fuck Those Crazies.
In "Supernatural" they couldn't swear and I'm sure on "Walker" Jared couldn't swear. Thank God Jensen went to streaming because he was born to say the word "fuck".
You have no idea what a seismic event "Brokeback Mountain" was!
This is a parody picture done for "Life Magazine". The Production Code also banned adultery and "sex perversion". Adultery and murder were always punished by death until the 1960s started freeing up the Code.
This is rambling, sorry.
P.S. Straight people making art is not queerbaiting, either.
THIS MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD I DROOLED ON MYSELF
