toga didn't even need to drink blood tbh.
sometimes in the fandom we talk ab how she could've lived better, if she could've found a partner who was okay with sharing their blood with her and all, but she's not a vampire. she doesn't need to drink someone's blood to live and be happy. she's not being inherently repressed by living in community with other people who don't want her to drink their blood, and we know this bc she spends most of the show like that.
himiko loves the league of villains, feels understood and accepted and loved by them, but she doesn't show an interest in drinking their blood usually. she's usually "normal", actually. and they aren't ever particularly offering theirs either. she loves them, but she doesn't want to become them, the whole point is actually that she can be herself with them. iirc only time she shows a "fixation" on their blood is after twice dies, and becoming him is the only way she can keep him close. up until this point, she's had her crush on izuku and ochako, and in the end ochako does offer her blood, but that's not what makes himiko give up the fight bc that's not actually what himiko wants from her. himiko stops fighting when ochako offers her understanding, acceptance, and love.
himiko likes blood. obviously. she likes drinking blood. duh. but i think that her whole "obsession" with drinking the blood of those she loves is not her natural state but rather a response to being so heavily repressed that she couldn’t connect with anyone. she had a crush on that one guy at her school, but she never got close to him because she was convinced he would reject her if he knew her true self. when she snaps she drinks his blood because if she can't be herself and be with him, she'll settle for being him. she admires stain but never gets to meet him or form a relationship with hìm, so she wants to drink his blood and be him. she loves izuku and ochako but doesn't have the opportunity to properly interact and connect with them really, so she wants to drink their blood. but with the league she has a genuine connection where she can be herself, so she doesn't need to drink their blood and become them as a substitute for connection and acceptance. she has that. until twice dies, and drinking his blood and becoming him is the only way to hold on to that connection.
himiko likes blood and she likes drinking blood and maybe she did drink that bird's blood as a toddler, but i do believe that it was the shame and repression imposed onto her by her parents and society that made her properly fixated on it in connection to her quirk, because if she as herself could never fit in with other people, then all she could do was become other people and fit in as them. and she needs to drink blood to do that. in fact when you think about it, forcing himiko to mask to be a normal girl was actually very much encouraging this. they literally told her to act like normal people, well she did it. she became like normal people... by drinking normal people's blood. because that's how her quirk works. lol. silly adults.
so basically she didn't need people who would just let her drink their blood freely, she needed people who wouldn't reject and punish her for simply wanting to.
