          The  corner of  his   lips turned up in   a small  smirk   (or at           least small by   his own reckoning)   and  he was quiet for a           few moments.   "You are in Fowl Manor located just outside           the city of Dublin in the country of Ireland. Should I go on to           give you the planetary information as well?"

"Then perhaps you should find yourself a home. They are quite good for shelters. And an open window is hardly an invitation. Which makes for a lousy excuse," Artemis replied evenly. There was a time when he would have called for Butler and been done with it, but now he was merely curious. "Why are you really here?"

The smile that formed on the seventeen year old's features was nothing if not almost vampiric in nature. "Of course, I thought you might say that. However, it does bring up the question as to why you are here. You are aware that you are trepassing upon Fowl Manor? Surely this cannot go without consequence."

     This time when Artemis's eyes narrowed,    it was out      of  confusion  instead  of  offense.     His  lips  pursed      together and he took in her appearance, trying to find      out if there was anything outwardly wrong.  "Where is      it that you think you are?     Either you require mental      assistance, or you are mistaken in your surroundings."

     "The way I see it, I have two options: I can continue      to allow you   free range of my manor,   or I can call      Butler and he can escort you out.  Of course, this is      all your choice. So, which is it?"

     His hands were sharply  folded behind his  back      and  pressed  against  the  expensively  tailored      jacket   while  bright   blue  eyes   examined  the      stranger in front of him.  Eyes narrowing slightly,      he took a few steps forward. "--And just how did      you get in without being detected?  I am rather..       curious."

     There was  an obvious touch  of indigence and offense      layered into his voice and Artemis found his chin jutting      up almost defensively.     "Exactly what,  pray tell,  am I      laying on thick, mademoiselle?"

     Artemis looked up from the device held in his      hand, sharp blue eyes seemingly unimpressed      with the sight before him. "--Yes? I do not      normally humor the attention of others, but if it      will save me from your stare then perhaps I shall      make an exception."

     "You have  been standing and  staring for far too      long for you to be an innocent bystander. Please,      state your business or leave.   Some of us take ill      to being stared at."
