plot: zombie apocalypse au. our muses are part of the same group of survivors but the leader and his followers are going (a lot) insane so our muses are considering escaping. That means theyâve got to escape both from humans and zombies... And they arenât sure who are the worst ones here.Â
The mall had long been abandoned and its several stores that contained useful resources such as clothes and electronic devices and nonperishable food had quickly become the base camp for a group of survivors that was located in Seoul. Gureum had just been lucky to bump into them while they were running away from a small group of living dead; they had saved their life and offered them a safe place without much hesitation. It had probably been because Gureum wasnât the most threatening person aliveă Ą Which they definitely were right about, although it was important to note that they had learned how to use a gun over the course of the past few weeks, with Junghwaâs help.Â
Their boots didnât make much noises on the second floor of the mall where the âprivate quartersâ were located. Privacy didnât mean much anymore in this chaotic world. The best thing to do at this point was to not think for one second about everything they had lost. Gureumâs fingers carefully pushed aside the bed sheet they had tied from one side to the other side of a former restaurant they had turned into a place to share with their friend. It wasnât ideal, but it worked.Â
The familiar sight of Junghwa leaning over one of the tables and gazing down at a map of the city they had gotten from the bookstore one floor below was never failing to make Gureum smile. To have someone by their side they knew they could wholeheartedly trust in this world was incredibly reassuring. âThe captain wants to capture some zombies tonight to bring them back here and probably make a show out of them. Itâs getting worse with each passing day.â Gureum sighed, plopping down on a seat close to the table so they could prop up their elbows on top of it. âDid you find anything interesting?âÂ
@ashboundâ ( Feng Wu & Mo Ran )
Hair on the back of her neck stood up on end.
Slow, deliberate steps, careful as she felt this feeling wash over her. Like someone had dumped a bucket of water in her head. It was something she couldnât place and it made her uneasy. A strange sense of dejavu that raised red flags in her mind, there was danger here.Red robes rippled in the light wind, it pulled strands of hair from the high ponytail, sent them fluttering along the moving lines of air.
Was she paranoid?
Out of instinct, she reached out, closed her eyes for just a moment and focused. The deep red and silver hilt materialised in her hand, the blade formed, silver with red inlay, the red swirling flame running up the center of the short sword to its tip. Raising it, she held it in front of her, defensive posture as if she was waiting for something to come out of the blue, an ambush of sorts. The blade quietly ignited, a shimmer of red energy running up the sword before it burst into translucent flame. At least the flame would help keep her warm, maybe run off the chill that hung in the hair.
Dark eyes turned to her Mo Ran, searched him for a moment, looking for some kind of cue over what her next actions were to be. Then, she took a deep breath, asked the question that kept biting her mind, âwhat is this place?â
        â what did you do this time? â hyunwoo asks with a frown when he spots a new bruise blossoming on junghwaâs face. thereâs not much he can do for a bruise, beyond putting some arnica ointment on it and sending him home with some anti-inflammatories, but he still feels the need to fuss over him regardless. â you know you donât have to get beaten up just to come and see me, right? â

She liked watching people; they hardly noticed and it was a good way to pass the time when she had nothing better to do. It would surprise people, Lin Ming thought, to know how much of surviving on the streets was filling time until the next day. Most of the people on the street were as unremarkable as she was and therefore not quite as interesting to make up stories about.
But this person was different.
Lin Ming straightened slightly. Their clothes were rather neat and clean for this sort of town, this particular area, and they had that air about them. The sort of air that felt charged in some way, that another cultivator would recognize as spiritual energy but she only noticed as something different and alive. Watching them walk, she turned the small pebble over in her hand. A grin crossed her face. She tossed it in their direction, watched it bounce off them with a silent laugh.
