I've recently decided to start rewatching Amphibia, which is significant because Amphibia is the whole reason I started this blog. Now, you might be thinking, "Crazy, why are you telling us this?". Well, it's because it will literally be the first time that I rewatched the show since it ended in 2022. So, minus an episode rewatch here and there, I have literally haven't watched this show in full in four years. The main reason for that is that right after Amphibia ended, I decided to pick up The Owl House, and after that, Steven Universe, then after that She-ra, then Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Voltron, Arcane, and life just happened and I was literally so busy I didn't have time, energy, or interest in actively watching a show in an analytical way (but I have, in fact, rewatched She-ra no less than half a dozen times). It also ironically finished in the spring semester of my Junior year of High School, and I'm in my Junior year of college right now.
I mean, as you can imagine, so much can change in four years. For starters, I'm no longer a high school student in the middle of two very extensive reconstructive surgeries for my feet. In fact, I graduated about a year after the finale aired. And now I'm a Communications Major with an emphasis on TV and Media Studies and a minor in Music. I'm literally analyzing and breaking down media every single day, and the silly little analytical breakdowns that I used to do have helped me more that I ever could have imagined. I've also written and directed a short film, and I have another one that I had to postpone that I plan to make before I graduate college next year. I also have been working FOR YEARS (literally since Junior year of HS I believe) on development for my animated show I hope to make one day, and I actually wrote the first version of the pilot last year, and have since started on the first draft of the Bible and gotten the basic overall story to a solid place. On top of that, I have Gen Ed, SGA, choir, opera, voice lessons, and my job that keeps me busy, plus my physical and mental health, which have both decided to rapidly decline lately. So , as you can imagine, the time in my days is very limited.
I want to rewatch it because I think it's important for me to have one fun thing to look forward to. But, in the spirit of nostalgia, I kinda want to do a series on here where I re-analyze all of it again via blogs from the perspective of a writer and a student who studies TV and Media. I really need something positive outside of school and work to focus on and enjoy. It probably won't be super consistent lol, but I'm gonna try lol. Anyways, if you read this, you're a real one. As always, my inbox is always open for requests if you feel like sending me any asks, questions, etc.
