Loki just goes SO MUCH HARDER than it ever had to.
Not only is it gorgeous and full of personality visually.
Not only does it REALLY trust its audience.
Not only is a really smartly written.
It has a cast full of career-best performances from some of the best actors in the business.
It’s MAD.
I understand why Sylvie has her hatedom because man can she grate on the nerves sometimes, but she’s a *brilliantly* well-realized character.
Every single visual or tonal or story choice with her so perfectly captures “what if someone was supposed to be Loki but hardcore rejected the identity?”
He Who Remains is such a masterful character/costume design. The cloak creates this ornate, imposing silhouette but then you look past it and he's just a DUDE in a loose TV shirt, dress pants and loafers.
Could read as “not wanting to be too silly,” but is clearly all grounded in character.
